Summary: Mafia II is an open-world game about, get this, the mafia. Anyway, they game has an open-world, but there is little to nothing to do in it, except drive to the next part of the story. This works out, as the story is actually good. This story is written so well and has probably the GREATEST shock moment in the gaming history. The problems are that the cover system is great, but third-person cover shooting seems to be your characters main job.
Summary: I really like this game. I play a lot of Mob oriented games an even though this isn't the best I would still rate it in my top 10. The only problem I had with the game is that some of the roads aren't finished therefore when you drive across an unfinished road your car is suspended in the air as if its falling off of a bridge. This is very frustrating as it makes it difficult to impossible to pass your current mission. Other than that the game is cool but not great.
Summary: This is a good game, but unlike the previous one, there is no raoming around since you are always bounded to a mission. This game has a different style altogether from GTA/ Red dead redemption. the magazine is a definite plus point. get it!
Summary: Pros ----- + Storyline is engaging, though slightly worn out if you have been following crime stories for some time + Attention to detail for character models, city landscapes, cars + Brisk pace of storytelling, so you could finish it in a few days without getting bored Cons ------ - Gunplay was weak compared to other shooters, not as satisfying - Lack of mid-mission save points means repetitious playthroughs if you die - City is so big and well-detailed, but yet more...
