Summary: Madden NFL 09 is a good price for what it's worth but, the gameplay can be very tricky and it is mostly like Madden NFL 10 in so many ways.So my advice to you:If you're an excellent gamer in football, definitely buy it!
Summary: the game is diffrent and harder then 07 06 and 05 the ones i have play but superstar mode is extremly fun.in fact the only reason im giving this 3 stars is because it freezes.but only if you play it for more than 1-2 games in a row.if your in franchise mode you need to save it each time after a game.also if your buying this game for graphics.the only real change is the grass.
Summary: I've played every Madden since it was on the Genesis, Recently I've only played it on the ps2. I got a ps3 about a month ago and figured i'd give it a go on the next gen. Where to start? First the graphics are really great. I played one game in the rain and by the time the game was over there was so much mud on my players you couldn't see there numbers hardly, I thought that was nice.
Summary: I've bought madden since they first came around back in the early 90s. Recent years, I commited to only buying a copy if my team wins the superbowl... and what do ya know... BOOM! Grats Steelers. Previous to that I've been playing Madden 2006 on the Wii. From 2006 to 2009, I expected better graphics, and selection menus. This game is only a year old, and I feel that they could have gone a lot further in polishing up what they already had from the previous year.
Madden 09 = Arcade, NFL Head Coach 09 = Simulation

Summary: Madden 09's game play was the issue I have found a tab bit disappointing and quite frustrating however, I thought NFL Head Coach 09 was pretty refreshing because it was the complete total opposite of it, which ended up being a good thing. Madden 09 Pros -Lots of new features -Huge improvement with in-game commentators. -Graphics are redefined. -Player models have a sense of realism to their remarkable animations.
Summary: I'm an experienced Madden player and typically have a really fun time when playing. However, this years Madden has been extremely difficult for me to play. I typically give up 80-90% completion percentage to the opposing quarterback while throwing 3-4 int's per game myself. I cannot grasp the reason this is happening. For a while I just thought I needed to get used to the game but now I'm beginning to think I'm just plain bad at this game.
Summary: This game is pretty good. EA still has issues with being able to throw the out pattern. Either you throw the ball too early and it gets picked off, or you throw it too late out of bounds, it's nearly impossible to throw it perfect. Also, with someone as good as Randy Moss or anyone with great speed or height, the deep ball works too easily. I've always complained about the deep ball being too difficult, but this year it's too easy.
Summary: I have loved Madden games since I got 93 on the Genesis. I love that they included it in this game AND have up-to-date teams (Panthers, Jags, and Texans are represented; has Titans instead of Oilers, etc) I like the graphics and presentation of the game, as well as the IQ. What I don't like is the passing.
Summary: I'm a long time Madden fan, I admit I have not played in the last 3 years or so, but I own or have owned all the others before it. The biggest concern I have is that the controls have changed so much that I find when I play I still go hitting the old buttons to do what I want and it dosn't work. I can see how this game could be great, but it's going to take me a while to get used to the new setup.
Summary: It truly is a sad day for NFL video game fans. Way back in the day we used to have options. Tecmo and Super Tecmo Bowl for a quick and fun arcade experience, and games like Madden on the Sega Genesis for a more realistic approach. With Madden 09 the only licensed NFL game in the world, you no longer have those options. For someone looking for a realistic and fun experience, over the years Madden has mostly satisfied that itch.
