Pros: As usual, TT has created another beautiful Lego title. It has a familiar feel to previous games, but has slight changes in how to acquire bricks and other items. It does not take long to adjust to these changes. They have done a respectable job in mapping out Tolkien's world.
Cons: This game is full of glitches. I would hold off on playing it until TT releases patches through the Playstation Network. There are items that you can walk through and not collect. There are frequent lock-ups. I have had my PS3 lock up an average of every 30-45 minutes while playing, requiring a full system reboot. Having experienced this on some previous TT Lego titles (but not at this high frequency), it probably means I will have to start the game over from the begi...
Summary: As with the recent LEGO games, the open world concept is fantastic. The story is as good as the books/movies with the game following the movies pretty closely. The music is straight from the movies and transitions nicely as you move through the overworld of Middle-earth. The graphics are good as long as motion is at a minimum. When multiple objects are moving at the same time the game gets awfully choppy.
Summary: A thoroughly enjoyable Lego game featuring the full trilogy of the Lord of the Rings. Complete with the original voice cast for characters. One downside I found was that the game glitches frequently after completing the main quest. This has severely ruined the gameplay for me. But if not for this then I would have given this game five stars.
Summary: I've been wanting a Lego Lord of the Rings since the very first Lego Star Wars came out all those years ago. But after countless Lego Game entries I finally get my wish and its not very impressive. The game itself is good and fun to play but it is also quiet boring at times, not really offering the much high intense action from the previous Lego games and too much walking.
Summary: Load, cut scene, run for 10 seconds, load, load, load - get bored then load a bit more. then play. This game is true to the lego format, there is loads to do but I just got so bored waiting for the game to load so that I could play it. So the game went back on the shelf.
