You're a Detective in Rockstar's Experimental Game, LA NOIRE

JiggyJay, epinions.com
4 January 2014
  • Summary: It was a good way to spend a few weekends, but I was mostly disappointed with the whole experience. Worth a rental at least.
  • Pros: Motion capture graphics, some great moments, sound design
  • Cons: Some gameplay mechanics and writing, glitches, hit-n-miss stylistic choices

Boring yet fun

  • Summary: For the most part, LA Noire is a pretty decent game. But the story gets confusing, then it makes sense, then it's confusing, and the game ends...
  • Pros: Graphics, Some Gameplay, Amazing Soundtrack
  • Cons: Very repetitive, dumb ending

Pretty good

El Flechero, Amazon
6 December 2012
  • Summary: So far I like the game...but it's not really grabbing me. The interrogations are a little frustrating, you always feel like you're missing something but you can't tell after it's over and it tells you did something wrong. Driving around the city makes you want to obey the traffic laws for once in a video game, and rewards you for doing so--but to do so means waiting at more red lights than I've ever waited for in real life.

Fun... When It Works

jagos, Amazon
24 May 2012
  • Summary: I am enjoying L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition but I find my enjoyment hindered by the 'truth/doubt/lie detection' system (tdlds). I feel the tdlds in this game is a commendable first attempt at doing something like this in a video game but I feel there should have been better explanation of how to tell when someone is lying versus when you doubt them. As it is now, I feel cheated whenever I get a question wrong.

Great concept for a game, but a bit slow

Paul B. Jones, Amazon
13 April 2012
  • Summary: Bought the game for my girlfriend and I tried it out. The concept for the game is cool and the storyline is well written but the gameplay itself is slow and a bit boring for my liking.

  • Summary: L.A.Noire is an interesting and compelling game but the lack of heavy action makes it a game that I can only give a three rating.
