Pretty good

El Flechero "Matthew", Amazon
6 December 2012
  • Summary: So far I like the game...but it's not really grabbing me. The interrogations are a little frustrating, you always feel like you're missing something but you can't tell after it's over and it tells you did something wrong.

Fun... When It Works

jagos, Amazon
24 May 2012
  • Summary: I am enjoying L.A. Noire: The Complete Edition but I find my enjoyment hindered by the 'truth/doubt/lie detection' system (tdlds). I feel the tdlds in this game is a commendable first attempt at doing something like this in a video game but I feel there should have been better explanation of how to...

Great concept for a game, but a bit slow

Paul B. Jones, Amazon
13 April 2012
  • Summary: Bought the game for my girlfriend and I tried it out. The concept for the game is cool and the storyline is well written but the gameplay itself is slow and a bit boring for my liking.

cops and robbers

William Hollis "No1 Gameplayer", Amazon
29 February 2012
  • Summary: L.A.Noire is an interesting and compelling game but the lack of heavy action makes it a game that I can only give a three rating.

Great concept, so so execution

Katrina M., Amazon
10 October 2011
  • Summary: LA Noire was such a great idea. The story itself, I found very powerful and I loved how the flashbacks of Cole's past tie back to the present game. However what was supposed to make this game so great, the interrogation system, is SO difficult to master.

Somewhat enjoyable, but wait for a used copy

Samantha V., Amazon
4 July 2011
  • Summary: I had very high expectations for this game, and unfortunately it fails to live up to them. I don't find it a total bore like some other reviewers, but I don't like it as much as Red Dead Redemption or GTA 4. It's moderately entertaining, but not worth the high price tag of buying new.

Scripted Story vs Fun

FatMarmot, Amazon
3 July 2011
  • Summary: I'm not sure if this is because of the technology or the game, but I wasn't a huge fan of this Rockstar outing. The big draw on this one was the facial expression technology, which I thought was lacking. Maybe it was advanced for the time, but to me it didn't feel realistic at all.

Proof that the gaming industry is engaging in grade inflation

stevie, Amazon
3 July 2011
  • Summary: Ok. First of all, a funny story that will let others laugh at my misery. I was really excited about this game from Rockstar coming off their entertaining Red Dead Redemption experience. Although I knew this would not be GTA cop version, I still felt it would be a worthy experience.

I tried to like it..

Matthew Chidester, Amazon
3 July 2011
  • Summary: *spoiler free* LA Noire is a nice change of pace compared to what usually rockstar puts out but the story was of typical rockstar fashion. Before I bought the game, I figured it was about one major crime and trying to solve that one major crime, but instead I was surprised how LONG this game was.

Come for the story, not the game

Mr. Scary, Amazon
3 July 2011
  • Summary: The game is really bizarre as there is almost no game at all. If you don't like driving you can skip those sequences. Fail at an action sequence three times and you can skip it without consequence. And all those interrogation scenes with the truth, lie, doubt options? No stakes at all.
