  • Summary: I was misled. I'm about half-way through this game and no one told me beforehand about all the violence against women and sprinkles of anti-black racism! Why do the 1950's have to be recreated with this and Mad Men and other garbage? The gameplay itself is fun but this isn't "just a game" and people who stand behind trite sayings like this probably don't bother thinking critically about much of anything.

  • Summary: First of all L.A. Noire is not a bad game but when their are so many other amazing games out there why buy just an ok game. I will list the positve and negatives of the game in my humble opinion to help you make your own decision. Positive: 1.) The facial recognition technology is amazing. The game relies on you to pick up on facial clues to figure out if you suspect is telling the truth. 2.) The game looks beautiful 3.

  • Summary: Unlike other Rockstar games that have unlimited gameplay, This game is too short. you can finish the story in just a few hours, and there isn't much variation between playthroughs. I would like to see a sequel done more like red dead redemption.

Crashes at this on level...

Johnny, Amazon
16 March 2013
  • Summary: The game was getting pretty fun, but at the third or fourth level, it always crashes. I have tried everything that is possible to fix it. I have restarted the console, unpluged connection to the internet, and even deleted all the saved data for this game. I have wasted hours and hours trying to fix this and i just had to give up. The gameplay was great, but unfortunatly i can't keep playing. Oh well.

Give it time

Jennifer Clarke, Amazon
14 June 2011
  • Summary: Most people who reviewed this did it shortly in. Not seeing all its flaws but focus more on the "new" facial features from real actors.(Cool I admit) That really is all the game has. Searching for clues and trying to read people. The story plays out the same no matter what you do. Its like you don't even need to be envolved. The shooting system is terrible, with no physics or realism to people you shoot.

Less of a game and more of a long animated mystery novel

Melissa Meade, Amazon

  • Summary: 60 dollars. Hmm. 60 dollars. What is worth 60 dollars? A really good bottle of bourbon. A hot concert ticket An awesome video game that takes you hostage for 72 hours and then when you're done you can shelve it for 6-12 months and then play it again. L.A. Noire is not worth 60 dollars. Everyone else has explored it's nuances, but here is all you need to know: Video games are about playing. Even if it's not about hand/eye coordination, as in an RPG, you make choices.

Wanted to Love this game, but alas I could not!

Amnesty, Amazon
31 May 2011
  • Summary: I was very much looking forward to this game. I played Red Dead Redemption and absolutely loved RDR! It was a fantastic game all around from its graphics to its game play to its uniqueness, an all around Epic game. So when I found out that Rockstar was releasing L.A. Noire; I was fairly excited about the prospect of a new Epic Rockstar game. My general thought when I purchased L.A. Noire was, if this game is half as good as RDR then its still going to be a good game.

Elongated Pros+Cons+Misc List

Aika, Amazon
27 May 2011
  • Summary: Pros + Instant Warp (when making partner do the driving) + Siren (causes cars to move to the side, most of the time) + Facial Expressions + Detail in city as well as pedestrians (practically half of the instruction manual is credits, showing how many people were casted for ALL of the characters in the game) + Music (providing the atmosphere of Los Angeles in 1947 as well as providing hints in-game) + Unlike the Grand Theft Auto series, you are able to take control of any...
