Summary: Well, if in fact you don't understand Japanese as the question asks, this edition of the game is not for you. There are hints but no specific warning that the text and audio of this version of the game is in the Japanese language. (It does say 'Japanese Import' but then so does my Honda and the SatNav speaks perfect English.) I bought it, but the seller was thoughtful enough to e-mail me asking if I was really sure I wanted the game in Japanese.
Summary: I wanted to like this game SO MUCH, but it fails because it does not work! I read many reviews that this game is so great but this game keeps freezing my ps3. My ps3 is fairly new so before you think it's my PS3's problem, it isn't. Every other game I have works perfectly (12+ different games that work flawlessly). I got up to the "The Fallen Idol" mission, and it freezes each time. It seems to happen to both the PS3 and the XBOX because the game is so big.
Summary: This game has a lot of potential, but is really falls short on being satisfying. The graphics are amazing. Seriously. They are truly incredible. Match the animated graphics with some great voice acting and the game can be entrancing. I am in awe of how far video game realism has come since the days of Pong, but unfortunately that isn't enough to make this an overall fun game that I want to be a part of. My main issue with the game is it doesn't really feel like a game.
Summary: L.A. Noire seemed like it would be different and interesting. I thought it would be a nice break from all the typical action games out there. While this game is certainly a beautiful game to look at, it is essentially a pretty guessing game. You will interrogate people and then be given the option to believe them, doubt them, or call them liars at various points during the interrogation. You will have only vague facial expressions and mannerisms to go on.
Summary: I wish I could comment on the quality of the gameplay, but I can't. The game freezes on my constantly. I expect some bugs from Rockstar games since they are a pillar of ineptitude, but this...this is so bad that it has literally made the game unplayable. The only good think I can comment on is what little dialogue I was able to hear was implemented very well. The audio is great. It looks horrible. The facial animation is all weird, and the clothing textures are terrible.
Summary: I purchased this off Amazon and it installed OK. However, when I go to run the game it gets hung up and eventually tells me the licence is corrupt. Note that it never asked me for the licence key or the Rockstar Social Club account information. I've re-installed 4 times and done 2 hours of research. I'm not a patient person, I'm going to write off this $25 as a lost cause. Do not buy.
Summary: This is an incredibly boring game. largely due to the game mechanic of forcing the player to redo every long boring part every time a mistake is made in an interesting part. Avoid it all costs.
Summary: The game is beautiful, well written, the facial expressions are AMAZING! Rockstar does great work but they seem to have forgotten their roots...free play games that let you make the decisions. The GTA series has been on a slow decline and this game proves RockFAIL is going to continue doing the same crap in the future.
