Summary: I must have gotten the console version of this game a couple of years ago. I played it for hours and hours... 8 hours straight was the norm, when I was on my weekend. After several weeks I finally finished the game, and put it down. Went onto other games. Diablo III, things like that. Recently, I've gotten tired of the D3 grind, so I decided to pop the KoA:R disc in and start a new character last week. Result?
Summary: For those not familiar with R.A. Salvatore - he is a very popular author of fantasy novels, stretching from some of his most famous works in the Wizard of the Coast property - Forgotten Realms and his famous character, Drizzt, to now his own gaming world creation - Amalur. This author, world creator, and fantasy visionary has the ability to paint a picture like no other with his words. He doesn't just tell you about a character, he makes you see that character.
Summary: I love this game. LOVE. Generally I've only played games like Final Fantasy and Devil May Cry, those are my go-to games for story and button mashing, respectively. This game is both. Which is why I love it. It's like button mashing rpg awesome in a case. The graphics are beautiful, your character is customizable and you can choose to do different things in multiple scenarios, and it's just fun.
Summary: I'll start off by saying that I love RPGs. This game has a big open world to explore which is an aspect of RPGs I really enjoy. Your character is completely costumizable with armor and accessories. You also get to increase your skills. Tere are so many quests, and it is a very long game. It makes me feel like got my money's worth because it does take a lot of gameplay hours to beat. I do wish your character talked, but that's a minor complaint. I like the graphics.
Summary: I thought this game's combat system was amazing, very fun to kill things. The blacksmithing, sage crafting, and alchemy was a cool edition for character customization. I love to get creative in games and make my character and build it up, make it stronger, level up and get new gear. This game let me do that easily one of my top 10 favorite games overall and top 3 RPGs.
Summary: The game is fun to play and has an expansive world for exploring. The combat system is great, the rewards are encouraging at each step and all around just a great game. I highly recommend sinking some time into this, you will not be disappointed.
Summary: I've got about 120 hours of gameplay in. Fun RPG, great action/fighting engine, and pretty simple inventory management. Loads quickly on PS3, but as with any disc-based game, the load times can be a little bothersome. Overall, one of the best games I've purchased in a long while. P.S. The DLC kind of stinks, at least the armor sets and such. Avoid.
Summary: First of all, it took me a long time to finally decide to get this game over Skyrim or Dragons Dogma. End result: very satisfied! Review: Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning is amazing. I just bought this game not knowing much about it, only watching videos and reviews of it, so I was a bit scared buying this game. But I was wrong, i became addicted to it so quickly and i love just about everything about it!
