Summary: I'll admit i was sceptical when I bought International Cricket 2011. Disappointed by cricket games of the past decade I wholeheartedly believed this would be the same. I was wrong. At last we have the perspective of the batsman, the decision where to hit the ball or more precisely where to place the ball is fun but the real challenge is timing the ball, and boy when you plant it perfectly over the fence for six or smack a booming cover drive you will feel pleased at the...
Summary: This is probably the first decent cricket game on PS3. Definitely not something I'd recommend if you're not into cricket, but if you are a cricket fan it'll provide some longevity and is good without being great. Would still love to see cricket games reach the level of other sports like NBA and FIFA.
Summary: ..but its presently the only Cricket game available on the PS3 hence choice isn't an option. Both bowling and cricket are great with the "Action Cam" and "Power Swing" features but the game feels a little rough and a few nit picky flaws (LBWs/Boundary shots) prevent this from being in the top echelon of sports games such as FIFA/MLB The Show. Nevertheless, if you are into Cricket this should be a day one purchase.
Conclusion: Though the game was bound to have it's small problems, it is as if it has been created by people with very little cricket knowledge. For the ps3 and xbox there is not one serious cricket game, like fifa. And i hoped that this game would be like that, but its very much a poor graphic, basic, and rushed game. I highly recomend waiting for a better company like EA, who will know the sport better and bring a much better realistic cricketing expirience.
Conclusion: For general fun, and 20 minute blasts this game is very enjoyable, but if you play for a good period of time you recognise the flaws with the game, for instance square cutting a full length ball for six just would not happen! for someone who plays and watches cricket very often, you realize that the game could be a lot better, the bowling action isn't brilliant and the batting stance looks weak.
