PS3's Best Superhero Sandbox

seb100172, Game Informer

  • Summary: As a kid, being a superhero was a dream of mine. When I discovered that I had no powers, and that radioactive waste was more like to give you cancer than to bless you with superhuman strength, it was devastating.  However, it was wonderful to discover that videogames are able to fill that void. The Batman: Arkham and Spiderman games are a personal favorite of mine, and I recently added Infamous to that list.

aReview: inFamous

Soren Hough, Game Informer

  • Summary: So, thanks to my friend, I was finally able to catch up on some excellent titles from the PS3 catalog. Most recently, I have finished inFamous, the open world sandbox game that came out a few years ago. The verdict? Not bad. It didn't blow me away- I'll say that much. There were some "wow" moments, I suppose. The biggest problem with a game that is trying to "wow" so much is that they often skimp on story. inFamous is a perfect example.

Great title with a few notable flaws.

  • Summary: I picked this up a couple weeks ago and overall I can say that it is an impressive game, admittedly with a few areas wanting. I'll review this with a comparison to Spider-Man: Web of Shadows since I found the games to be very similar in terms of story and gameplay. STORY The story itself is not too complex.

  • Summary: I chose this as part of the bundle package for the PS3 console game. My kids are enamored with another game but have played this one as well.

  • Summary: This game is pretty cool, although i dont think its made for everyone. Its a game where you have to run around a town thats run down. Everything depends on the decisions you make. You can interact with anything, climb on any building, jump from any height. Pretty awesome.

  • Summary: I purchase this game a year ago on Black-Friday 2009, and I didn't like the game play, which is different from the hack and slashing games that I like. This year 2010, this game is all I am playing right now. This game is pure action from start to finish.

An Addictive Original With Enormous Potential

R.A. McKenzie, Amazon
1 October 2010
  • Summary: "InFamous" is one of the toughest video games to review, because even though I loved playing it from start to finish, I can't help but feel it could've been so much better. It's a game with a lot of well-implemented concepts and the rare original that deserves a sequel. But every time I turned the game off, my mind kept reanalyzing what wasn't so good about "Infamous". How can such a fun ride with the controller in my hand get such criticisms when I'm not playing it?
