Harry Potter Gets Blown Away
James Baker "Book Maven", Amazon
20 October 2010
Summary: I bought this game hoping that I would get the best out of my money, only to get the worse. Yes, I said it, "THE WORST HARRY POTTER GAME EVER! Do your wallet a favor, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Why? Let me explain: True the graphics are spectacular, but why make a game with great graphics, and horrible game play. The controls are weird, and the characters aren't original.
Summary: Sorry, we like action games' strategy games and this one appears under this title and does not fit it at all. It is a boring game with no action' no strategy that I found' and nothing interesting at all. "Uncharted" is still on top of all games.
Summary: I got this game because other HP games were somewhat fun and with the new HD visuals it should be awesome, right? Well, while the game looks good on a nice HDTV, the gameplay falls flat on its face. The design of the objectives and extras are ho-hum and there is nothing that makes you want to play it again so its replay value is very low. Harry sometimes can't open doors because of a programming bug and there are occasional graphical glitches.
Summary: I am by no means an avid gamer--I've probably only completed 10 or so video games in my life so I'm no expert. In any case, I had tons of fun with games 1, 2, and 3. The combination of exploration with mini-challenges/quests was engaging and fun. I loved exploring and hunting for the bonuses and messing around with the prefects during night missions, but this game disappointed me.
Summary: This game is no fun at all.. it is boring and a waste of time. We have had this game for a couple of weeks and played it maybe twice. The quests are a joke.. the special items you can win are movie clips and interviews with the cast. They only good thing I can say about this game is that the creators really did a great job with the graphics.. Hogwarts was huge.. but it reminds me of a virtual book or virtual movie.. there's really nothing to 'do'.
Excerpt: Ok, the first thing I will admit is how much I enjoy Harry Potter, and how good the first 3 games were, and how much of a disappointment the 4th game was, so naturally I was excited when I saw the 5th game was to be a free roaming environment, with an entirely explorable Hogwarts, and I was incredibly looking forward to it. This only made me even more disappointed upon playing it. The castle within the game is huge, and was fun to explore for a little while.
A game that has potential but simply falls flat very early on

Conclusion: Being a MASSIVE harry potter fan I defensively bought it, I thought i'd prove everyone wrong by saying its a great game. I was shocked, Graphics were OK, even on ps3 i thought they would great, Gameplay is pretty dull,he cant run properly, and when your fred and george the flying is terrible, the only good parts is doing all the spells which still are confusing, I hope the new game will be improved LOADS.
