Summary: This game is alright, and it's a lot of fun if you're a Van Halen fan. But overall, there's little that's different from the rest of the Guitar Hero series and the choices for guest acts aren't great. But it's cheap so if you're a fan of both Van Halen and Guitar Hero, it's worth it. If you're only a fan of one or the other probably not.
Could had been better if they did not rush the development.

Summary: This could had been a 5 star title but as some reviews stated it was rushed and used the same engine as the Metallica game. Come on Activision you had a diamond in the rough and you blew it. This comes from a die hard Van Halen fan since 1980.
(7.0) Few great songs - Lots of filler songs - Not all Van Halen

Summary: This game is solid and fun but I feel a bit ripped off. First, this is old Van Halen mixed with a lot of bad music that you would not buy. Allot of the Van Halen is the stuff on the old albums you probably would not listen to. Few Great songs, lots of music, probably some of the worst songs on the albums of some of these bands. Probably was very cheap to license this game. Buy it on sale for 10$ otherwise I would stay away.
Summary: Good GH for the most part, but its incomplete without the Sammy Hagar era. All of the VH songs are David Lee Roth which is great but VH was just as good with Hagar. They needed to expand and include Hagar.
Summary: This game caught my attention not only because I'm a fan of the GH franchise but I also enjoy some David Lee Roth era Van Halen. That and the fun I had with GH Metallica this was a must buy for me. I should have probably held out and rented it or waited for the price to drop. This game has a good Van Halen song list, the guest artist songs not so good(how many GH games does the Foo Fighters have to be in exactly?). The game play was ok.
Great songs and entertainment, but game content could have been more developed

Summary: Before I begin, I should probably tell you that I am not a huge Van Halen fan. In other words, I really don't know much about them, but I do like to listen to their music (esp. their guitar solos). Having said that, I found this game pretty entertaining for me, because I got to play through favorites such as Hot for Teacher, You Really Got me, Dance the Night Away, and many others.
Conclusion: I recently bought this game because I am a big fan of Van Halen and guitar hero but I was very disappointed with this game. First of all there are only 45 tracks on the game and over half of them are songs that aren't by Van Halen, they are good yes, but there should be more Van Halen songs in the game. Also, the lack of characters in the game. There's only the current VH lineup. They should've made the effort to add Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony aswell.
Summary: not a bad sort of a game. I'm not the biggest VH fan in the world but still
thought it was pretty cool.
Some of these riffs on the guitar will test you for sure.
Lots of fun and something a little different at the same time.
If you can get it cheap its worth it.
