Summary: Just so you know, I'm not that terrible a typist, nor is my grammar that bad. I typed out my review title like that for a reason. Why? Well, simply put this game is only half Van Halen. Thus I took out half the letters in the title. I think it's an absolute insult to call this game "Guitar Hero: Van Halen" This is just "Guitar Hero: Van Roth" Oh yeah, lets make a Guitar Hero specifically for one of the best rock bands of the past 30 years,..
Summary: I grew up loving Van Halen for all they were, so naturally, I should be ecstatic about a Guitar Hero Van Halen game, but alas, the end result is a big disappointment. Boasting generic looking venues and simply not enough material, Guitar Hero Van Halen features a decent enough helping of David Lee Roth-era tracks to play, as well as some of Eddie Van Halen's most memorable guitar solo work.
Summary: I got the freebie copy of GH:VH from the GH5 promo. GH:VH uses the GH: Metallica engine - it has expert-plus drums and better star power indicators, but it doesn't have the easy group play drop-in/drop-out stuff of GH5 or the instrument challenges that make that game a little more interesting. Positives: If you like classic David Lee Roth Van Halen (no Van Hagar here) you'll love it. You'll also dig it if you like playing hard guitar parts.
Summary: I Bought Van Halen to finish off my guitar hero collection and i'm glad I left this one till last..I was very dissapointed with the collection of songs on here. I'd always heard Van Halen was this big thing in the 80's but after playing through the whole game there was only 2 song i knew!!!! There are some good songs from other artists " Queen..I Want It All " and " The Offspring ..Pretty Fly For A White Guy" but that's about it!!
