I loved it, until it died

Jess B., Amazon
3 July 2013
  • Summary: I was able to play guitar hero for a month or so and then it died. I replaced batteries, and it stayed dead. No usb charger. So I have a game that I can't really play and was really excited about. I think maybe wireless controllers aren't so awesome.

  • Summary: Muy pop. Muy alternativo. Tendrian q centrarse mas en el rock y metal. El gh 3 es el mejor en cuabto a temas. Temas como raining blood, hicieron de ese juego inolvidable.

Not much to recommend over III & WT

Chris "The BBC American", Amazon
4 October 2010
  • Summary: The only reason to get this game is if there are just some tracks you can't do without. Aside from that, there isn't much new or improved to really set it apart from its immediate predecessors. I would recommend either III or World Tour instead of this. I'm keeping mine because I need it to play Stone Temple's "Plush" (a DLC tune).

Average but still fun

Brawny Withed, amazon.co.uk
4 January 2012
  • Summary: Having played the Guitar Hero series since the first one in 2005. For me the series hit it's peak creatively and musically with Guitar Hero 3. Saying that Guitar Hero 5 is an okay game their are some good song's and the gameplay has remained mainly the same. Guest musicians such as Kurt Cobain and Johnny Cash are also available to be unlocked through the career mode which is a nice touch.

Mediocre

k99svend, Play.com
10 March 2010
  • Conclusion: If you like great rock, this is not the best guitar hero game at all. All the new features does not do anything for me, if what you are looking is a great game to rock out with, you are way better off with guitar hero van halen, metallica, greatest hits or world tour. Some great tunes of course but I was pretty bored half of the time.

Some good improvements, but still some problems

W. H. J. Yip ""squodge photography"", amazon.co.uk
16 February 2010
  • Summary: Most of you will have played a Guitar Hero or Rock Band game before. This game functions in exactly the same way - you get to pretend to be a hero on guitar, bass, drums, or vocals. The new stuff that's great are: * Joining in any time: excellent for when people just want to join in, no pressure. They can even drop out if they fancy it, again no worries.

Guitar Hero 5 review

Bambibabe..., Ciao

  • Excerpt: "Guitar Hero 5 is part of the famous guitar heor music franchise. It has always been a very popular game and has always shown newbies to rock music new bands and has always given you a realistic expierience to a rock gig. I have always loved the Guitar Hero games but the latest i found a little dissapointing. Good features - I enjoyed the fact that there is a party play mode so u can just drop in and out of a song at any time, or even just watch ...
  • Pros: Graphics, Kurt Cobain
  • Cons: Setlist, drums and microphone peripherals take away from the name ''Guitar'' Hero
