Summary: I thought this game was going to have an amazing story, but it was alright. The play of the game is "eh" and the graphics remind me of playstation 2 graphics. I wasn't very impressed with it but it could be fun if you want to kill some time working on game skills I guest. The shipping and time however was great. It came on time and they wrapped the game really good, so no scratches on the game case and CD itself.
Summary: This game makes a mockery of the original golden axe arcade classic, whilst it has features adapted to a modern game which are meant to draw you back to the good old days with that beautiful chuckle of nostalgia they are few and far between and were executed with so much more style and entertainment 25 years ago when golden axe graced lives. Game was utterly dismal I gave it a 1 for the hour of entertainment I got out of it.
Summary: If you find this game cheap, it's worth giving it a shot. Once you get used to the combat, it can be pretty fun. You also get to ride on a couple monsters, which makes the combat better. The graphics, the camera and the music are pretty good. The two big problems are the lack of online play and the game is also very repetitive.
Summary: First off the comment 'would I recommend this game or the Golden Axe Series altogether'?...I think it depends on who you are. The Golden Axe games of the late 80's/early 90's fell into a streamlined genre of action series games like Double Dragon and Streets of Rage. The gameplay of these types of games was really focused...
Summary: As 1 of fans of Megadrive's Golden Axe back there. I kinda disappointed with the gameplay & story. But still, in terms of ordinary hack & slash game. The game was still fun & pretty much enjoyable.
Summary: I'm changing my score. I gave it a 8 initially, but after playing through most of the game, it just gets worse and worse. Repetition increases, and eventually what story existed in the beginning disappears. I give it a 6 now.
Summary: Golden Axe tries to bring back the memories but fails to deliver the same quality as the other Golden Axe games. You play as Tyris, there is also other characters that make guest appearances. The combat is just bland and uninteresting. The game just doesn't feel like it lives up to it's past. The game runs nice though and the graphics aren't that bad for a 2008 video game. The game is not that bad it just doesn't feel like the same.
Summary: As with most of the people interested in this game, I too was a big fan of the original trilogy and arcade releases, so my expectations were already set pretty high. In the end, they weren't exactly met, but not betrayed either which brings me to the specifics. I really enjoyed the little throwbacks, here and there, to the previous titles, such as the reappearance of the thieves, Bitter Knights and those infamous skeletons.
