Summary: Game of Thrones fans may want to experience this game, but it will take a herculean amount of patience to trudge through the technical problems and uninteresting characters. This is a game best left unplayed.
Pros: Environments are true to the story, All locations are accurate with Thrones lore
Cons: Technical mess, Uninspired voice acting, Boring storyling and characters
Excerpt: George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series has picked up quite a bit of attention recently, due to a certain hit TV show based on it, Game of Thrones. Both series mix political intrigue, some seriously messed up family dynamics, a nice spot of violence and boobs. Now comes the inevitable video game, and despite the rich source material Atlus’ Game of Thrones is unremarkable on every level.
Summary: With such a deep and rich tapestry of mythology already build up around the Game of Thrones franchise thanks to the series of books by George R. R. Martin and the smash hit HBO series of the same name, it was really only ever a matter of time before some opportunistic development studio snapped up the rights to bring us a game based on the world. That developer is Cyanide Studio, and its Game of Thrones title has finally made its way into our hands.
Conclusion: I wanted to like the game, but sadly it never gave me the chance to. This is an IP that can lead to some incredible gaming experiences and this title is nothing close to what it should be. If you're a fan, just read a Wiki for all of the story details.
Excerpt: George R R Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire series is some of the best fantasy fiction since Tolkien stopped producing his magical worlds.
Pros: A well plotted narrative that improves as it goes on., Nice but unobtrusive ties to the best known section of the series.
Cons: Looks quite ugly, plenty of poor models and animation., Voice work is awful., Music is forgettable, except for the inclusion of the excellent TV show theme., Every good idea is killed in the implementation.
Conclusion: And it's also because the connection to the best-selling book series and critically-acclaimed television show with nods to the world, characters and events is the only good thing about the game. It's baked in the same tray as a BioWare title: action RPG gameplay, elaborate (read: excessive) story. It revolves around Night's Watch veteran Westford, and returning priest Alester Sarwyck.
Summary: Videoherní zpracování Game of Thrones nadchne fanoušky především propracovaným a dobře napsaným příběhem, ale bohužel zklame špatnou hratelností, velkým množstvím chyb a také špatným audiovizuálním zpracováním. Pokud mezi fanoušky předlohy nepatříte, porozhlédněte se jinde, třeba u polské konkurence, která je o několik tříd lepší. Ta nejen má dobře napsaný příběh, ale i vytříbenou hratelnost.
