Review Summary

Folklore is a graphically beautiful game with an intriguing story. It is a tale of an old tragedy, of a town torn by a past that continues to haunt it. It is an adventure, an action game that requires players to think, to uncover clues and to immerse themselves in the fantasy world. Folklore is a wonderful adventure focusing on two characters, Keats and Ellen. Ellen has lost her mother to an unknown cause. Together they will embark on a mysterious journey that will take them between the worlds of ‘reality’ and seven Netherworlds. Players will have the opportunity to play either character, each having different combat styles. Keats is always a step behind Ellen. The story, cast, and setting is wonderful with its lyrical melodies. At the right moment, the music will systematically change to fit with the mood. Orchestral sounds are soft and soothing. Reviewers find Folklore to be a beautiful game with superb art direction and wonderful lighting and special effects. It’s a compelling story with intrigue, in a world that is an amazing treat for the eyes. Folklore is a delight to play, a game full of wonder that will appeal to young and mature gamers.
