Summary: If you are looking for a very different Final Fantasy, you'll find it here. And that's not a good thing. No room for exploration, awful battle system and I still have no idea how to upgrade my weapons after years of owning this game. Oh yeah, and you have to beat the game before you can finish it. Does that make sense? Of course not, because it's Final Fantasy XIII.
Summary: I'm not THAT BIG of a gamer so i may be out of place here but this game was boring. The graphics were phenomenal which is why i gave it the 2nd star but graphics are nothing without good gameplay and story. I've always heard so much about the final fantasy games and really only played a few times way back on ps1. I finally got a ps3 the other day and this game came along with it.
Summary: I have been playing Final Fantasy since Final Fantasy I, and over time the games have become worse and worse, and this one tops it off. What do I expect when I play an RPG? Well, I plan on there being some interactions in towns with NPCs, side quests, and other fun things. Instead, this game is just a looonngg mission. Eventually the game opens up a little (but barely), and I kept wondering, "When is this going to get interesting?
Summary: I've been out of the RPG loop since I attempted to stay up for several days playing FFX in college 9 years ago. So I picked this one up recently for nostalgia sake, since having been a square fan since FF4. It seemed to begin well. I thought that it would begin like FF7 where you're in a gigantic metropolis for some time and end up in an expansive world. I expected the cliched cheezy and overly dramatic characters, I expected under-dog protagonists versus some empire.

Summary: Once I had a dream that I was stuck in a really long winding hallway and there were all sorts of scary monsters in that hallway with me. Whenever one would jump out of the dark and attack me I would freak out but then realized if I could just reach the X button the monsters would die on their own and I could continue down the hallway....oh wait that's FF13 This game has a truckload of hype behind it like every other FF game.
Summary: Wow, did I miss the boat on this one! I really did mean to buy this when it first came out, but then I was dissuaded by all the negative comments about it (too linear, bad storyline, etc.) that I ended up putting it off for so long that the sequel is already coming out! Yeah, it's been that long. Despite all the bad stuff I've heard, I've tried very strongly to stay unbiased in my feelings about this game before I'd played it.

Summary: Final Fantasy XIII - Doesn't Live Up To Its Legacy Warning: This will be lengthy, detailed review (Spoiler Free). Who Am I: Avid RPG fan that grew up with the Final Fantasy (FF) series, dating back to FF2 (US). I've completed the game in just under 45+ hrs. I have no interest in doing the side quests - read below for more info on that. The Final Fantasy series has been near and dear to my heart for a long time.
Summary: Final Fantasy XIII steeps in its rottenness for about 20-25 hours until it ferments into a competent exercise in combat tactics. The story and characters are unengaging to the point of being alienating. The early part of the game is full of characters shouting impassioned pronouncements about things that don't make any sense to the player. At first this seems like a form of in media res storytelling that will eventually become clear. But it doesn't.
