Conclusion: If gamers are worried about Fat Princess not giving them an amusing time, then they should worry no longer – Fat Princess has more highs than lows to justify a digital download for any PlayStation 3 owner.
Excerpt: Fat Princess has been around for little under a year now. Yeah, I know, a little late to the party... but when it comes to games built primarily for online play, well, you want a little time before seeing if the game is really worth your time. And, man, is Fat Princess ever worth your time. Fat Princess 's cartoon appearance is deceiving. It looks cute with bright fields, spells and bigheaded characters.
Summary: " Fat Princess " is at times brilliant, absorbing fun, set in a classy, visually excellent world. But, it’s also pricey for what you get, has the odd bug still remaining, and the games last too long. This is partly due to the core mechanics of the PS3 not including a headset within the box, but also due to game balance. If each round lasted an average 5-15 minutes, then it would be a much better experience in my humble opinion.
Conclusion: Though it's hardly perfect, Fat Princess is nevertheless one of the most enjoyable and multi-faceted multiplayer experiences on the PS3 right now. Grab a headset and get to slaughtering; that princess isn't going to gorge herself, you know!
Excerpt: Finding the right team based game isn’t easy. Some games have the right mix of team based modes but leak the right player setup. Other games have good character setup but the weapons don’t feel right.
Summary: The PlayStation 3 often gets a bad rap, thanks in no small part to its early lack of high profile, original IP titles. However, with the PSN exclusive Fat Princess, Sony is taking a more subtle, but no less effective, approach to try and keep consumers happy with their all-mighty processing machine: bringing good old fashioned fun back to serious gaming.
Pros: Fun, immersive gameplay, Game has a unique sense of humor, There's cake
Cons: Poor matchmaking framework, Meager in-game communication, Lack of player feedback and stats
Excerpt: When we first heard the title, “Fat Princess,” we had no idea what to expect. Then, the interest and hype began to rise and we found ourselves following the game’s progress with a very close eye; the concept of a RTS set in a fairytale world and played at a frantic pace was most certainly intriguing. It was yet another mostly original idea, and we had already seen several on the PlayStation Network.
Conclusion: Despite a handful of shortcomings, Fat Princess is one of the PlayStation Network's best offerings. The sheer unpredictable nature of the game is truly the main draw. You never know what hilarious situation might emerge from one minute to the next, and the dynamics of every session are different depending on your team's strategy. When considering flat-out fun, you really can't go wrong here.
Summary: Comic books and superheroes are continuing to invade the media, in television, film and computer games. With the recent influx of superhero movies we have seen many game and film tie-ins but there are few superhero games that have been worth writing home about. The most successful I can think of is the recent Arkham series focusing on DC Comics’ hero Batman.
Pros: Great characterisation of Deadpool - nearly pitch perfect in line with comics, Cameos from other X-Men and clever way of introducing characters
Cons: Repetitive gameplay, Short campaign and little replayability
