Summary: Because I purchased Far Cry 3 when it came out having not played the second one, I decided this needed to be done before I play through the new one. The game had a couple pros but may cons. Let's just get started. Story .5 : The story is almost non-existent as you are a man placed in between a rival war in Africa between two factions. You are placed there to kill a gun runner called the Jackal. As for the story, that is about it. You don't really know what you are...
Summary: It seems to me that they spent too much time making a beautiful world but very little time on gameplay. The scenery is very beautiful. The AI is challenging but without a realistic set of rules to operate under, it gets really annoying. Everyone attacks you without cause. This becomes very repetitive because you have to face armed checkpoints every few hundred meters when traveling.
Summary: Overall, it is a technically sound game. Graphics are excellent, controls are great, and voice acting is great. But it is a BORING game. And with the LENGTH being so long, its terrible. The game is very repetitive, its just get mission on phone, drive to place, get ambushed while driving, get ambushed while driving, get there, beat mission or unlock a safe house. The buddies system is terrible, they never come to help and the missions are the same.
Summary: Well, the game is all right looks good real good that is why its to bad they did not put more work into the storyline. What I did not like in this game was how you had to drive form one place to the next. About 1-2 minutes into you're drive you have to pull over and kill a few people off by the time you get to you're mission you're low on ammo.
Conclusion: I brought this game around christmas time and have played it three times to date, the last two times have been recently. I agree with one of the earlier reviews that you do have to be in the mood to play it i just can't get into it no matter how hard i try. The only reason i have begun to play it is because my friend has brought it so it's makes it a tad more entertaining but even the multiplayer is abit dull.
Conclusion: What is the point in a game where everywhere you drive you get shot or catch malaria. Yes the open world is all very cool and beautiful, but there are many equally as good open world games out there, if not better. Missions are miles from each other and the story leads to nothing. Wont be buying any of the Far cry series in a hurry.
Excerpt: "...sequel to the original game Far Cry. I am new to the Far Cry saga so I can't comment on its predecessor. As far as I'm aware, FC1 was very different i.e. setting and gameplay, so I think its best if we just ignore it.''' ==Whats it about?== Far Cry 2 is set in a fictional African state. A good place for Ubisoft to take full potential of the PS3's graphics power, and show off with fatastic African surroundings. However, behind the beautiful surroundings ...
Pros: Fantastic graphics and sound . Map is good .
Cons: Poor game play, too realistic, too hard even on "easy" mode . ANNOYING
