Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is Whenever a movie hits the big screen, there is an 80% chance that a video game is going to follow. In the never ending race for the big bucks, both box office bigshots and game developers know when they’re sitting on a gold mine. Often the game and movie tie in so perfectly with each other that you really part of the story as you play the game. However, in some instances the movie is awful, and the game is no better.
Conclusion: What's truly scary about Rise of the Silver Surfer isn't that it's a horrid game (though it is certainly bad), it's that it's also just painfully uninteresting. This is a licensed game that lives up the reputation of licensed games to a T.
Conclusion: Unlike the recent Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End cash-in, Rise Of The Silver Surfer is based on a genuinely entertaining and fun film. Unfortunately for us, there’s none of that in the game. Avoid, as per usual.
