Summary: back in 2008... I didn't have a PS3. But, when I did get one, I saw this game and passed it over because it was a shooter. Shooters and I don't get along too well. But now that I actually played it, I automatically regret passing it over. The concept of playing in a apocalyptic wasteland is not new ground treaded. And the fact its an FPS is not helping. But, since this was made from Bethesda, the man that created the Elder Scrolls series, balanced it out nicely.
Summary: Fallout 3 GOTY is one of my all time favorite games. Its epic in scope. Its entertaining, always dangling the proverbial carrot on a stick in front of the player. Fallout 3 has exploration, strategy elements, FPS gunplay, resource management, missions beyond belief. Not to mention the 5 DLC packs included on the disc. Its a whole lot of gaming for the money.
Summary: Alright this game itself is perfect but then again just buy the normal game its alot cheaper and then just buy the dlc(s) you dont want the GOTY its soooo glitchy and mothership zeta is a pointless dlc you cant get the alien blaster til you beat it and all you do is run around a space ship and recruit captured ppl to control the ship and take you back to the wasteland and operation anchorage is amazing its not hard so try it out as soon as you start because when you beat...
Summary: As a fan of another Bethesda hit Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, I had expected this game to have a lot of similarities to that game. I was pleasantly surprised to find this game far more engrossing overall. Many compare this as a inferior game in comparison, however, I would garner to say this is a far better game. Of course, I am a fan of Sci-fi and not so much one of Fantasy, therefore, perspective is skewed in that manner.
Summary: First off, I love this game. It was half the reason I got a PS3 for xmas this year. However, I haven't even finished all of the add-ons and I'm so frustrated I'm considering trading it in. Through the first part of the game everything was running beautifully, but in the latter parts of the game and especially in the add-ons (Zeta, Anchorage, and The Pitt are all I've played) the game gets extremely glitchy. I'm talking major lag and lock-ups.
Summary: The game is great. I wouldn't worry too much about the previous review about the glitch because the same thing would happen to me even when i was playing the original version of the game without the add ons. It would temporarily freeze but resume normally. Never had a problem with my hard drive either.
Summary: Its to be expected of the creators of elder scrolls oblivion, bethesda, that they would make another great master piece of a game. Fallout 3 when it first came out was pritty much labeled as awesome from people like us to tv shows and magazines. I personally loved just the freerome aspect of the game. Adding in its really currently the only shooter that really allows you to do that (untill borderlands comes out and fallout new vegas).
