A spot on 16-bit style action game, with some problems here and there,

Summary: GI's score is definitely too low. This game feels SPOT ON like a 16 bit title from Treasure or Capcom. The physics, the animations; it's all pretty much perfect (though the wall slide is janky). The actual exploding elements are pretty fun as well. And since they're tied into physics-based puzzles, most of this game is great stuff. The combat is a little annoying though, as you need to explode as close as possible to enemies in order to do the most damage.
Summary: Maybe its not a ten, but take the average of my score and GI's and you'll get a better idea of what the game should be rated. It's a fresh take on classic platforming with very fun fighting mechanics. The controls aren't nearly as sloppy as the GI review makes them out to be, in fact, I never really had a problem with the controls at all. This would've been a 8.5-9 in my book if it weren't for the repetitive boss fights, as it stands, 7.5 is about right, I just had to...
