Enslaved Odyssey Accessibility Review

ablegamers.com
30 April 2012
  • Excerpt: The idea of adapting one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese Literature into a videogame may sound as if it must have started out as a drunken bet, but that is exactly the challenge that British developers Ninja Theory have stepped up to with Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. The ancient and beloved tale of Monkey, Trip and their motley band of followers has been successfully adapted into all sorts of media in the past from cult TV shows to an opera, but you have...

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West

Thunderbolt Games
21 January 2011
  • Excerpt: Every now and then, along comes a game which genuinely justifies videogames as a viable medium for storytelling. Perhaps we should expect this from Enslaved: Odyssey to the West , with The Beach and 28 Days Later author Alex Garland credited as co-writer and Heavenly Sword creators Ninja Theory on development duty.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West: Pigsy's Perfect 10

GameTrailers
14 December 2010
  • Excerpt: Pigsy didn't get much time in the spotlight as he joined Monkey and Trip late in their journey, but Enslaved's first expansion focuses entirely on the portly protagonist. Does Pigsy's Perfect 10 have some good meat on its bones, or is it all fat? Bored and lonely in the Titan Graveyard, Pigsy devises a plan to build the perfect robot companion, requiring him to search the scrap heaps for three key components.

Enslaved

Strategy Informer
4 December 2010
  • Conclusion: Monkey and Trip's adventures in Enslaved: Odyssey to the West have been a refreshing surprise that sadly is in danger of being lost in the ocean of big-named sequel releases that are coming over the next month or so. One thing that should be clear here is that Enslaved is not only an example of how the games industry can use film industry expertise to enhance the gaming experience, it is a welcome release from the endless pursuit of sequels; at least until Enslaved 2...

International Cricket 2010 Review

VideoGamer.com
2 December 2010
  • Excerpt: There's only one sport making headlines at the moment. Eleven men taking on eleven men on a beautiful green pitch, with a ball playing a major part in proceedings. This isn't a video game based on that sport. This is Cricket 2010, released bizarrely smack bang in the middle of the football World Cup. With vuvuzelas blaring out from inside the stadiums in South Africa and on our streets here in England, has anyone even noticed that there's cricket going on too?

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2

Strategy Informer
2 December 2010
  • Conclusion: There will be few fans of Naruto that will find much to gripe about in this game. Its story is huge and detailed, the epic battles with the incredible quick time events will dazzle gamers regardless of their opinion of Naruto and anime in general, and the online fights have hidden depth, but those irritating load screens and the mundane aspects of Story Mode put a large pinch on the glories found within each battle.

Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2

Playstation Illustrated
2 December 2010
  • Excerpt: Dragon Ball fans are, for lack of better words, insatiable. Each and every year, a new DBZ themed fighting game is released. Sometimes, we get more than one. This isn't necessarily a good thing, though. Most of them are tired rehashes of the same stripped-down fighting game. Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 is a tired rehash of the same stripped-down fighting game that released last year. Sure, it's a pretty game.

Enslaved: Odyssey to the West Review

VideoGamer.com
2 December 2010
  • Excerpt: Movies and games are increasingly crossing paths. We've had games that have big Hollywood involvement before, of course, but Enslaved feels like it has tapped into the movie biz's talent pool at every opportunity. It has a story co-written by Alex Garland, the man who wrote The Beach and went on to pen numerous screenplays for Danny Boyle; it also stars and is directed by Andy Serkis, the British actor who brought Gollum to life in The Lord of the Rings.
