Dungeon Siege III: Treasure of the Sun

Destructoid
2 September 2013
  • Summary: For all its faults, Dungeon Siege III was something that I immensely enjoyed to button-mash my way through on my own. The camera annoyances found in co-op were not really an issue while playing solo, although the AI's tendency to just leave you for dead more than made up for it. Treasures of the Sun , the first big DLC expansion, doesn't just add a good amount of new content to the hack & slash-a-ton, but also gives players a number of new tools to make their lives a lot...

Dungeon Siege III

Destructoid
14 November 2011
  • Summary: It's been quite some time since we last saw Dungeon Siege , with the Dungeon Siege II: Broken World expansion pack released in 2006. Since then, the franchise has landed at the feet of role-playing powerhouse Square Enix and the fine --if notoriously glitch-loving -- folk at Obsidian.

Dungeon Siege 3 Review

VideoGamer.com
12 November 2011
  • Excerpt: Dungeon Siege began in 2002 under Gas Powered Game's watch, largely keeping in the style of the Ultima series, and to a lesser degree Diablo. But this is Obsidian Entertainment's first crack at the franchise, and the new studio's focus has moved to other areas. Depending on which genre you normally identify with, Dungeon Siege 3 is either a diet RPG for loot enthusiasts, or a refurbished dungeon crawler catering to RPG-lovers.

Dungeon Siege III

Playstation Illustrated
30 October 2011
  • Excerpt: What Dungeon Siege III lacks in standout features it makes up for with solid, enjoyable gameplay. Nothing will stick out in your mind, yet it is something you'll want to see through to the end and, just maybe, replay with a friend. I shouldn't say nothing sticks out; Dungeon Siege III 's visuals are incredibly good. Details are everywhere, ensuring there is always something new and cool to see.

Review: Dungeon Siege III (Sony PS3)

Diehard GameFAN
26 October 2011
  • Summary: Although Dungeon Siege III does suffer from a plethora of minor bugs and a rather generic clichéd storyline, Obsidian has not only made a game that is a worthy successor to the earlier games in the franchise made by Gas Powered Games, but it was almost as good as some of the titles they made in their heyday as part of Black Isle Studios.

Dungeon Siege III

Strategy Informer
15 September 2011
  • Conclusion: Dungeon Siege III falls victim to its lack of ambition. With a little extra guts, the developers could have installed an engaging narrative, memorable characters and an online component that would prolong the title's life. Instead, what we have is an emotionless, unrewarding journey that shies away from doing anything special. As a first crack, at least Obsidian have shown that the series has the potential to blossom away from the PC.
