... a mediocre rating to a game that I initially enjoyed a great deal

Summary: This is probably the first time I've given a mediocre rating to a game that I initially enjoyed a great deal, but Dragon Dogma has some almost deal-breaking problems that creep up later in the game, and I'm guessing that those giving this game four or five stars either lucked out and never met with...
Summary: It's a decent game. I don't love it the way I do with Skyrim, but it passes the time. The quests are a bit boring and I can't stand the pawns saying the same lines over and over again, but the idea of the pawns is pretty cleaver.
Summary: This is the best game I have ever played, and nothing else even comes close. The combat is intense and satisfying, the challenge remains even after level 200, the pawn system is deep and rewarding if you invest in your pawn, and the online Ur-Dragon hunt (which is still ongoing) is awesome.
Summary: This is one of the more unique action RPGs out there. It's like a mix between the RPG elements of a game like Skyrim and the acrobatic action of a game like Devil May Cry. The game doesn't hold your hand like so many others so it takes a bit of getting used to. I kind of like that aspect of it.
or a labor of love that wasn't allowed to be done to completion

Summary: Really hard to rate this. I feel the game borders on a tech-demo, or a labor of love that wasn't allowed to be done to completion. Elements of it are poorly implemented, mechanics are hard to understand, and it's unforgiving, but the story rewards you if you stick with it, and it has new game plus,...
Summary: Dragon's Dogma was a fun, entertaining game, with a somewhat disappointing post-game, and boring, repetitive, laborious grinding, and a few badly priced ingame items. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen FIXES all of that by delivering a 20-hour mega-dungeon that gives ludicrous amounts of experience, a very...
Summary: It has been about a year since I finally finished this triumph of a game, but my mind keeps wandering back and thinking about it so I finally had to leave my thoughts. Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is an expanded version of Dragon's Dogma, with more high-level content and a few tweaks throughout.
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is a flawed game, but the end-game content alone made it worth it

Summary: Dragon's Dogma is only a half-decent game. However, Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen is easily one of the best hack-and-slash RPG experiences I have ever had. The main story is extremely dull, with few likable characters.
Summary: I have a great anecdote for my opinion of this game. I was wandering around on my way to a mission fairly early on in the game. I suddenly encountered an enormous troll (which is a higher level boss enemy) wandering around the world. I fought for a brutal half an hour, and finally killed it.
