A great game with too much grinding

MetalSlugger, Bestbuy
30 July 2014
  • Summary: I love playing this game with my wife and daughter. The graphics/sound are incredible, and the gameplay is easy enough to have anyone jump in yet deep...
  • Pros: Amazing graphics/sound, fun multiplayer
  • Cons: Multiplayer can be confusing, too much grinding

Another Great Vanillaware Title

J. Gallen "J. Michael Gallen", Amazon
8 July 2014
  • Summary: Japanese role-playing game developer Vanillaware has made a name for itself, specializing in titles sporting two-dimensional graphics such as Odin Sphere and Muramasa: The Demon Blade in a market dominated by three-dimensional videogames. The year 2013 saw the Japanese and foreign release of their latest title to date, Dragon’s Crown, for the PlayStation 3 and Vita, the latter version which this review covers, and proves to be another solid game from the company.

great mindless button masher

P. LeBlanc, Amazon
9 May 2014
  • Summary: I really like the game up to a point. The artwork and music are phenominal. The action is fun but simple. The story is where it is lacking, because it doesn't matter. Whatever point you are at in the story, the way you progress is by entering a zone and mashing the attck button. Good for what it is, but i like my games to have a deep story.

High fantasy beat-em-up heaven on the go

T. Hill "Relytia", Amazon
16 April 2014
  • Summary: Even before I ripped the cellophane wrap off of the package, I knew I was going to love Dragon's Crown. After all, it was made by one of my favorite game developers, the illustrious Vanillaware. It's evidently set in the same universe as Odin Sphere , one of my all-time favorite video games (and Vanillaware's magnum opus, if you ask me), albeit much, much later in its chronology. It's a beat-em-up with RPG ambitions. It's all guaranteed to be good right?
