Summary: I'd mentioned to my son I was dumping DOOM off the PS3 as it was boring and too easy. He suggested DOOM 3, saying it was a lot different. He wasn't kidding. In fact, it's so creepy from the original that it bothers me while I'm trying to play. Not for the faint of heart.
Summary: Graphics in this game are as good as some current gen game. the visual effects and tricks are nice. many things have been added over the original Doom 3. not just graphics. Doom and Doom II are also included. the copy is well created. but they're too old to play. basically a 2.5 D game. I got it for $10 bucks. so its pretty much worth that. UPDATE Knocked a star off because the game is fun. but it isn't what i would call groundbreaking or even great. its not bad.
A VERY BAD PORT OF A GOOD GAME. HORRIBLE IN GAME CUSTOMIZATION & GAME MECHANICS. FUN TO PLAY. LET DOWN FROM ORIGINAL DOOM 3!

Summary: DOOM 3 BFG Edition is a great game. Yes DOOM 3 BFG is nothing if not repetitive, repetitive, repetitive, and even more repetitive. Did I say Doom 3 BFG was repetitive because it bares repeating like in the game again and again and again. That said the underlying story is interesting, the dialogue appears realistic especially that of the self serving self absorbed, totally deluded, pompous, over the top mega big space corporation.
Summary: Doom 3 BFG Edition is available on PS3! First off, it has all three - Doom, Doom II, and Doom 3 and The Lost Mission - on a single disc. Doom has been around for a while so I don't think I have to go into the merits of its plot and mechanics. It's still the old school, "See it, shoot it!
Summary: The game itself is a pretty good deal because it includes three games, Doom 1, 2 and 3...plus some new levels makes it a good deal at 13 dollars...I gave it four star because I would have prefered both Doom 1 and 2 to be downloadable via codes and not included on the same disc...anyway, I'm enjoying the game...
Summary: There are many cool guns in this game. The monsters look neat. This game is filled with non-stop action and keeps you engaged. Getting through the levels or just trying to reach the next stash of medkits and ammunition keeps you involved.
Summary: I can't notice the difference in graphics between this PS3 version and running the original Doom 3 on ultra settings on pc. And both console versions actually don't look as good as the original pc version on ultra. The save time on PS3 is also slower compared to Xbox 360. All that aside, it's worth getting. Especially if you've never played this game. It's a great value. You get the original campaign, lost missions, and the expansion pack.
Summary: Doom3 blows.. I don't know how old doom 3 is, but it plays horrible and lags bad. I bought it so I could play Doom 1 and Doom 2, and they work and look fantastic. The only crappy part is it says you can play multiplayer.. but you really can't. If you click "join game" you just sit there. You also have to choose the level of difficulty and which map.
Summary: DOOM and DOOM 2 are icons. They look great in this package and play very well. Takes a minute or two to get used to a controller rather than a keyboard and mouse, but then it's smooth sailing. DOOM 3 was a game I've never played before now. As of this review DOOM 3 is a nine year old game, yet it still plays very well. The frame rate is super smooth, the lighting is excellent, and the game drips atmosphere.
