Excerpt: That Activision is pouring out one sequel after the other isn’t a secret, but that sometimes one of those is actually innovating we see as a gift from God. DJ Hero was that fresh wind in the genre of music games. The monopoly of plastic guitars and drums was shattered by a trendy turntable.
Excerpt: I thoroughly enjoyed DJ Hero and I was saddened to hear that the game didn’t sell as well as they hoped it would. Thankfully, they released a sequel and listened to some of the criticisms from the gamers this time around.
Pros: Slicker Interface; DJ Battles add a nice touch; more room for song personalization.
Cons: While the track list is decent I liked the DJ Hero set list better.
Excerpt: I don't consider myself much of the "club" type, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't fantasize about being behind the turntables at a bumping nightclub because of DJ Hero 2 . Since last year's breakout hit, I have been itching (and scratching) to get back behind the deck for more megamixes.
Summary: Living rooms will transform into nightclubs to let budding beat chemists, singing sensations and all of their friends party together by firing up two turntable controllers and a microphone to experience their favorite music as they've never heard it before in DJ Hero 2.
Conclusion: In every way, DJ Hero 2 is an exceptional successor, and a great rhythm game for this year. If every sequel could improve as much as this one has, in as little time, the game industry as a whole would be producing triple-A games so regularly that it would be commonplace. And we’d love it.
Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is Developers have realized that music and rhythm games mean big business. There’s no great joy than listening to your favorite song while strumming away on a plastic guitar or finding your mojo on a set of colored drums.
Excerpt: When I reviewed the original DJ Hero last year, I didn't expect it to be on my top five list. The game just took me by surprise and turned out to be quite enjoyable, not to mentioning conjuring up some impressive mashups out of some songs which I didn't even like by themselves.
Excerpt: Why must this time of year always be so busy? It’s school holidays, Christmas time for those that celebrate, holiday trips are being planned, loads and loads of shopping needs to be done, you’re going out with friends,
