Colin McRae: Dirt PS3 Review

Console Obsession
29 May 2010
  • Excerpt: Since its inception the Colin McRae Rally series has been one of the finest for nerve shredding driving, and its rather lengthy lifecycle is testament to this. Colin McRae Dirt is the latest game in the series, and the removal of Rally from the title suggests that the game is more than a rally game.

Colin McRae Rally DiRT Review

PlayStation Universe
8 April 2009
  • Summary: This is a game that once you pick up, you’ll love. Even if you’re just a casual fan of driving games, we recommend you pick this up. And if you love your driving, then this is a cert, as its quite simply one of the best PS3 racing titles currently on the market
  • Pros: Realistic damage, In-depth career mode, Plenty of unlockable cars and liveries
  • Cons: Online mode could be better, No "real" arcade feature

DiRT

Playstation Illustrated
5 December 2008
  • Excerpt: One of the unique features of DiRT is the treatment of its User Interface (U.I). DiRT 's menus and other U.I. features are handled in what is best described as what people were expecting Vista to look like. All of the menus are displayed as arrangements of 2D screens displayed in 3D space.

  • Conclusion: Audio provides a surprising amount of depth to the game in addition to the graphics. Just like in the visuals, it’s the small details that really make it a full experience. Engine sounds are always the most important part, and of course do a great job. Some of the finer effects add to the already solid foundation.

GameTrailers
21 June 2007
  • Excerpt: Rally Racing hasn’t exactly laid down a patch of rubber glory in the US. While the sport is extremely popular in Europe, Fiats gunning down rural dirt roads has failed to appeal to the beer-soaked NASCAR crowd or the Formula One elites in America. The same holds true for rally racing games. In the US they’re generally a non-event, despite the fact that games like Rallisport Challenge and Colin McRae sell in the hundreds of thousands elsewhere.

Colin McRae DIRT

Futuregamez.net
29 October 2007
  • Summary: Colin McRae DIRT is one of the best rally games we've ever had the pleasure of playing. While it may not reach the 'hardcore simulation' that so many would like this is, above all else, a complete joy to play. Will there be a sequel with the tragic passing of the man himself? Time will tell, but right now there is no reason not to pick up this game.

Colin McRae DIRT

Megaconsolas
10 June 2014
