Excerpt: Just a month after bringing players back to Pandora, Borderlands 2 introduces landlubbers and seamen alike to its first episode of DLC, Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty. Should you walk the plank and comb the dry seas for lost treasure or save your coin for a bottle of rum? After clearing a town besieged by pirates, you'll meet the notorious Captain Scarlett who employs your service in finding a legendary treasure, practically promising to stab you in the back...
Excerpt: First Impressions My reaction is Nothing against the game, series, developer or publisher but last year’s PES was bad on so many levels. The game did not just disappoint long time fans; it also offered nothing new to the genre itself while handing over the “best football game” title to FIFA and EA Sports. The first encouraging sign coming from the people behind this game came earlier this year.
Conclusion: After fighting through enough levels, Nero (and eventually Dante) has a huge number of moves to choose from. The better a player you are—meaning, the speed with which you finish a level, the number secrets you discover, and the volume of blood orbs you collect—the more moves you can unlock for the heroes. Even better, Dante and Nero have unique and independent fighting styles, so the game plays one way going up, and a different way going down.
Summary: Devil May Cry 4 delivers on every front possible. With great voice acting and immensely addictive gameplay elements that will rarely get old as long as you change it up from fight to fight, it is one of the definitive must buys for the PlayStation 3.
Pros: Mesmerizing voiceovers, Addictive gameplay, Great control setup
Cons: Lack of difficulty, Camera can sometimes obscure your view
Conclusion: I could go on and on about this game, but really all I need to say is that this is a fantastic addition to the Devil May Cry series. Yes, it is the same old, same old from Capcom. They didn't really toss in too many new tricks, but that still doesn't take away from the fact that this is a great hack 'n slash game that is a must-have for PS3.
Excerpt: It's been nearly three years since the last Devil May Cry was released and since then, the once ground-breaking series has seen a number of challengers, most notably God of War . With the release of Devil May Cry 4 , the series' "next-gen" debut, Capcom wanted to show that the series wasn't about to relinquish the throne without a fight. While God of War focuses on harsh brutality, Devil May Cry 4 brings sexy back.
