Devil May Cry 4

Developed and published by Capcom, the Devil May Cry 4 action/hack and slash video game was released for the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 game consoles as well as on Windows PCs. This single-player game is the fourth installment in the popular Devil May Cry series and is the series’ fastest sequel to reach the 2 million copies sold mark—reaching the milestone in only its first month.

Gameplay

This game places the player in a storyline taking place after the original Devil May Cry game and before its first sequel. In Devil May Cry 4, unlike the previous three installments, the player gets to take control of both Dante and Nero—a new character. The first three games had Dante as the main character while Devil May Cry 4 has Nero as the main protagonist. Making re-appearances from the older games in the series are Trish and Lady to go along with the new characters Credo, Gloria, Kyrie and Agnus.

As a hack and slash game, the gamer—playing as either Nero or Dante—fight their way through numerous enemies using different kinds of weapons like firearms and swords.

Apart from controlling two characters, the Capcom developers have also added a few other changes. Devil May Cry 4 now has a new currency called Proud Souls. These are awarded to the player at the end of each mission with the amount depending on the player’s performance. Proud Souls can then be used to acquire new abilities while Red Orbs are used to purchase items for the character.
