Summary: This game was a terrible disappointment. The first half was brilliant, but somewhere in the middle the flaws became overwhelmingly obvious. This is definitely a 2008 game. Why do I have to hunt for, or purchase, resources that should replenish automatically? Now I find myself in the Engine Room in Chapter 9 at half health, being attacked by the Alien that has to be killed from the back, with no ability to slow him. 10 attempts and no closer to beating him.
Summary: OK 1st this game scared the bejeezuz out of me.. i had to stop playing it.. just set the controller down.. the aliens would pop up behind you.. then you have to stomp on them to make sure they are dead. that was the bad part.. after 50 or so stompings I found myself in the REPETATIVE ZONE.. "you are about to enter a world.. of sight and sound.. yes the next stop.. the REPETATIVE ZONE. game had great story.. i was not impressed with the stomping of the aliens..
Summary: I didn't care for the game at all, for me moving the character around must be intuitive, it must feel natural. In this game before you even understand how to move the character around, your being killed by scary monsters. Your praying to make it to the next save location without being killed, and in the end you keep saying to yourself, I paid good money to feel this way!
Excerpt: The over the shoulder perspective is a little 'Marmite' as in you either love it or hate it. Personally I hated it. The story is ok, with a large nod toward Aliens. It tries to be jumpy but after a while you can predict when the monsters are going to appear. Its an ok effort and a nice idea mixing FPS and Survival Horror, nothing special here, there are better games.
