Summary: Good DOA game. The countering has continued to get more complicated ever since DOA2 which I personally do not like I preferred the more rock, paper, scissors of DOA 2. In DOA2 there was a nice balance of countering defeats attacking, attacking defeats grabbing, and grabbing defeated countering. In this game it feels more like a spam attack and grabs but the countering is super painful to learn so it really feels like it is non existent. Still a fun game overall.
Summary: If you're reading this now, that means you're not paying $60 for this like I did. The change in art direction really bothered me at first, but it grows on you quickly. As a fighting game, it is surprisingly accessible to newcomers. There is a free to play version called "Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate" I would recommend downloading if you enjoy this title.
Summary: I've always been a Tekken fan. But after playing Tekken Tag for years, I wanted something new to play for a while, so I noticed that DoA Core Fighters, basically the demo for this was free on the PS Store. Even though I told myself I would never play Dead or Alive because it always seemed to target the guys more than girls, I loved it. I played core fighters for days, and then figured I really wanted to buy this game, so I did.
Summary: Dead or Alive 5 exclusive collector's edition is great. But when I received it, one of the corner of the hard case was slightly damage as well as the plastic cover of the game was fracture too. Very disappointed but what can I do. I will not buy from this vendor again especially for the price that I paid for this game.
