Summary: I bought this game back in 2008 right after I got a PS3. It was the first open world racing game I had ever played and I have so many fond memories of this game. Its too bad the cofounders at Criterion have left because we'll probably never get another game like it. This game is original in a few ways. For one, the crashes are amazing. Even my wife will play a pseudo mode in this game called "Showtime" just to see how many busses she can crash into.
Summary: These days games are a lot more focussed on the graphics and the physics engine and all the other stuff but usually overlook a very important aspect - fun. But burnout is an exception, car controls are very easy and the game focuses purely around enjoyability. I have a 10 year old nephew who hadn't played racing games on consoles before and he was able to drive the car without too many issues and he loved the game.
Summary: Best racing / action / crashing game on the market to date. The crash sequences are amazing! I love the Take Down challenges the most, it is so much fun to make everyone else around you crash.
Summary: Smash smash and more smash, great game that definitely lets you take out some road rage in the safety of your own home, great soundtrack, great cars, and great race types with amazing graphics a must have for your PS3 collection
If you like to drive,...you'll 'drive' yourself nuts with this one....

Summary: It's a wonderful game. All kinds of things (strategies) to work out, style of play, ....it's a bit hard though. If you're not very good at driving games,...it just seems the programmers forgot about us such that they would have included a REALLY EASY mode that many others would have avoided,...but would have caused folks like me to play it all the more. I really like the game.
