Summary: I looked forward to this game for months because the FREE level on the ps3 store was awesome. After that first level though the story goes south. The gameplay sucks. The boss battles are not hard but are annoying because they are time consuming. Jack Black is a good voice for the game, but it's not as funny as you would think. If you see it for eight bucks or so you might pick it up for a quick weekend play. Otherwise dont pay over ten bucks for this game.
Summary: 2.5 Stars overall. Being a metalhead, I really thought I would like this game more than I did... I only paid $20 for it, so it's not a complete loss, but I can easily say the (Boss)Stage Battles ruined it for me. I thought this game was all hack/slash action with driving elements. On the good side, I love the dialogue, music, and visual/metal elements.
Summary: After so many good reviews a game must be good..right? wrong. I played this game for about 8 hours and I could bearly do that, I had to quit the game was so boring. There was a few things to do to complete the game and that was it. The creator of this game must have been bought off. I dont have alot to say about the game except beware of buying it. if you have to play it rent it first. Good game and good luck.
Summary: Brutal Legend was originally written and developed as a "Command & Conquer" type base defense game. The extra exploration and leveling at the beginning was added later. Strangely enough the beginning of the game where you complete quests, level, unlock new upgrades and tracks is the most fun part of the game! Later on after you have done some navigating the base defense part takes over and here endeth the fun.
Brutal Legen - Weird combination of Fun and Boredom...

Summary: I never found such a weir combination af Fun and Boredom in a videogame. The concept, the themes, the attitude, all perfect. Jack Black is super, the dialogues are brilliant, the music is amazing, a lot of cool stuff in this game. BUT, there's a but, and a pretty huge one: Gameplay. It is not what I expected, too many times it finishes in boredom and bother, too many times.
So much potential and yet it falls flat on it's face

Summary: I started this game loving it, it was fun, unique, had great voice overs and generally was a blast. It quickly started to get dull though, controlling troops is nowhere near as good as it sounds... it tedious, poorly executed and limited. I want to love this game, I'm a huge JB fan, love Ozzy and Lemmy's charecters... but it was just so boring, I didn't even complete it, thats how dull it was... any one want my copy?
Summary: As with other negative reviews it was the Battles that ruined this game for me. To be honest though the rest of the game isn't great either. The battles as has been mentioned by others in detail are a chore to go through and really stopped me from wanting to return to the game as I got further through the story. Eventually I did just stop playing the game before finishing it.
A masterclass in how to utterly ruin a good game with a single awful idea

Summary: Brutal Legend is a great game. A fun, funny, engaging open world action adventure game with a fantastically designed game world, great characters and story, top notch soundtrack and voice acting, and has a lot of content to offer for your money. Driving around a hellish wasteland in a pimped out death mobile looking for demons to slaughter is definitely as much fun as it sounds. Why two stars then?
