Birds of Steel

destructoid.com
2 September 2013
  • Summary: Combat flight simulators, like real-time strategy games, are a resilient breed which has always struggled to find its place on consoles. A mouse and keyboard control scheme is almost always preferred over a gamepad when it comes to fast-paced strategy games, and flight sims really need a flightstick if you are going to opt for a realistic feel. Console flight sims traditionally veer into the arcade space ( H.A.W.X.

Birds of Steel (PS3)

  • Excerpt: I lauded it as a great simulator, let down by console controllers. Now I am introduced to Birds of Steel, a new flight simulator with two of the greatest things in gaming: World War II and fighter planes!

  • Conclusion: We’re not going to lie – this isn’t for everyone. Historical flight simulators / games are hardly the top of everyone’s list, but those lamenting the stumble of Microsoft Flight or desiring something new to delve into, there’s plenty here to keep virtual pilots happy.

Birds of Steel Review (PS3, Xbox 360)

TheSixthAxis
8 January 2012
  • Excerpt: Birds of Steel is a fairly rare thing. It’s a serious vintage combat flight sim on consoles. It eschews much of the hyperbole of modern combat flyers, avoids the over-the-top action of arcade flyers and pitches itself firmly at the sort of console gamer that avidly watches the History Channel. It’s not a wide market, for sure.
  • Cons: Ground scenery gets a little rough around the edges at times., Campaign mode pacing is hampered with repetition., Voice acting makes radio chatter cringeworthy.

Birds of Steel im Test

insidegames.ch
21 December 2012
  • Cons: matschige Bodentexturen, KI stellenweiße doof, durchschnittliches Missionsdesign

Birds of Steel

Review: Birds of Steel

ps-com.ch
21 May 2012

Birds of Steel

bgamer.sapo.pt
20 May 2012
