Summary: I really think this game needed some more time in the oven and a better story/adventure planning. The story doesn't advance very well and it's more just a basic platformer with some cool abilities that becomes repetitive. It would have helped though if you didn't have to wait so long to get abilities that you should have been able to figure out easily, such as the ability to grab a guy with your bionic arm and toss him or swing your grappling hook and deflect enemies or...
Summary: I should have learned by now that Capcom doesn't really know how to make next-gen games yet. I've found myself looking for a lot more out of their latest games than I actually get from them. Bionic Commando is no exception. Feeling nostalgic for the NES classic, I thought I'd take a chance on this re-imagining...and now I wish I hadn't. The storyline is boring, the characters are wallpaper and the graphics leave much to be desired even for Capcom.
Summary: At first i thought it was going to be as much fun as the NES version. It did not blow my mind. i wasn't as addicted as i was with the first one. Played a couple of levels and then got discouraged.
Summary: The game definitely lacks polish and at this point nobody plays mutliplayer. If you can get the game for about $10 it does have some interesting gameplay mechanics. Better than a PSN download but not worthy to be a retail title. Once you get the hang of the bionic arm it is pretty fun to play. Although the game looks like it is a big open sandbox game it is pretty linear with radiation being used as invisble walls to keep you from straying too far from the beaten path.
Summary: It's a solid game as long as you don't expect too much out of it. The gameplay is a little on the shallow side, but that doesn't stop it from being B movie fun. There were some annoyances throughout, such as when you completed a challenge, or got a collectible you had to make it to the next autosave for it to count. Not a huge deal but somewhat annoying when you completed a challenge at a more difficult part.
Summary: playing this game, I have mixed feelings sometimes i feel like they have destroyed a classic, when i think of bionic commando, I think of a game like "Dues Ex" but then again that name was just released in 2011. and Bionic was what three years ago. The Game is fun, swinging around in a war zone, my problems come with how fluid the game goes, it is rather difficult to grapple, zip kick a enemie, fly through the air, and do it all over again.
Conclusion: Bionic Commando is, at heart, a 3rd person shooter. The problem with that is that the weakest point of this game is the shooting. Fortunately the use of your 'Bionic arm' throws in some interesting aspects which makes combat not completely terrible. There is some platforming as a throw back to the original Bionic Commando released in the late 80's, most of which involves using the 'Bionic arm' for swinging around in an almost spiderman esque fashion.
