Beowulf: The Game

GamesRadar
24 June 2012
  • Pros: Combat can be fun, Bloody, bone-breaking animations, Angelina Jolie is sort of naked
  • Cons: Mini-game resisting fake Angelina. WTF?, Boring cut-scenes and VO, Production feels rushed and unfinished

  • Excerpt: Pros: Beowulf is one of these movies licensed games that you will either love or hate. I personally love it, it caters to the casual gamer, has cinematic flavor to it in small bits,  combat is very simple (kinda like Conan but bloodier) and the sound and graphics are superbly done.

Beowulf The Game Review

  • Excerpt: That's not Angelina's face. Looks nothing like her. That might be her body, and her breasts... maybe. But that's not her face. Either the developers were using a pirated version of the fully CG film as source material or Ms Jolie banned the use of her likeness as well as her voice in the game. Sigh. I was looking forward to that.

PS3/X360/PC Review - 'Beowulf'

WorthPlaying
8 January 2008
  • Summary: Beowulf is a combat-driven action adventure game set in the realms of Nordic mythology. Arrogant, self-serving and lustful for gold and glory, as Beowulf you will journey to Denmark to destroy a bloodthirsty beast wreaking havoc on a frigid land.

  • Excerpt: So I heard they were doing a movie adaptation of "Beowulf," the epic poem written by an anonymous author that many of us read in school. At first, I was a touch concerned, especially considering there really wasn't much to that story besides a very straightforward plot- hero arrives, kills monster, boasts about it, kills the monster's mother, boasts again, and leaves. Written in medieval times (15th, 16th century, something like that), it's not all that surprising.

  • Pros: Bonne adaptation, Quelques bons boss, Plusieurs fins
  • Cons: Manque de souffle épique, Combats peu motivants, Réalisation légère

Beowulf
