Summary: If you enjoy mashing buttons to complete levels, seizure-inducing gameplay, and a (really cool, actually) take on the angels vs. demons fight, check this game out. I will give Bayonetta one thing - it's a lot of fun to play, and keeps you amped up most of the time due to how quickly everything seems to progress. Oh, and scantily clad witches (?) killing things.
Summary: Bayonetta is the kind of game that I want to like. It has a memorable heroine, lots of action, a story that doesn't make sense so it doesn't matter if you skip cutscenes, and the challenge doesn't suddenly spike at a certain point in the game. At the same time, many aspects of the game feel rushed and a huge patch is needed to make the ps3 version here play a little bit closer to the 360 version.
Unique and Over-The-Top. BUT Button-masher Beware !!!

Summary: First of all, to put this review up as a critical review, I cheated a little by giving this game 3 stars. (Please, don't burn me alive!!! I'll explain now) So, sorry fans, I'm dragging the score down a little. Actually, this is a solid 4-star game for me. I just want to draw attentions of gamers who are on the fence and still considering about buying this game with an analytical point of view.
Summary: When I think of witches, which thankfully isn't very often, I have images of old women with pronounced warts on their faces riding through the skies on broomsticks with black feline companions in tow and cauldrons bubbling away in their secluded homes. Bayonetta takes the witch in a new direction boasting a young, bespectacled heroine in a skin tight outfit, wielding guns in both her hands and strapped to her feet, while being verbose in a plethora of sexual innuendos...
Summary: Bayonetta is a female clone of Devil May Cry, so really if you liked that game , you'll like this. What's been added is a lot more crazy attitude and a wilder series of events in general, and a LOT of combos. The plot is so hard to understand you might be advised not to bother trying...just play the game - which in it's barest detail means that you go from location to location, kill everything that moves, move on, kill everything again, kill a boss.
Summary: I consider myself a guru in console and pc games and I can tell you for sure, this game is mediocracy. It's too bad when someone spoils a could-have-been-great game, with such a stupid story, and with pointless missions. I have to be honest, the graphics are good, and the gameplay is well done, but that's not all a game needs to be great. The music is frustrating, at least for me it is.
Excerpt: "Given the praise that Bayonetta was met with and the creative clout behind the project, it’s hard not to feel a little disappointed by the end product. The scores it obtained throughout much of the gaming press suggested something groundbreaking, even era-defining for gaming. In the final reckoning though, Bayonetta is merely a superior Devil May Cry derivative with a weird streak. Hype aside, it’s an enjoyable action game with silky smooth combat ...
Summary: As Boyonetta is going so cheap, I'd recommend giving it a go. There's really nothing to add to what's already been said by the other reviewers. Suffice to say, the game is nuts! Don't expect any kind of narrative coherence, as it's all over the place. One really annoying thing is the cut scenes. Truly, truly abysmal! I have NO idea what purpose they were serving as they added nothing to the game IMHO.
Summary: The fighting system in this game is without parallel and is great fun, it is what kept me playing to the end despite the game's best efforts to make me give up. Unfortunately the rest of the game seems to have been structured to avoid you actually anjoying it. The story itself is best ignored and the cut scenes are completely incomprehensible somehow managing to detract from the main game.
