  • Summary: The original Assassin's Creed: Liberation and I have a contentious relationship. I've wanted a good portable Assassin's Creed since the series first touched down at retail. Aveline de Grandpre was the first female protagonist in the series, something that I definitely wanted Ubisoft to explore.

Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD Review

PlayStation Universe
22 January 2014
  • Summary: The HD version isn't without its issues, but the overhauled visuals make the environments that were phenomenal on the PS Vita equally so on home consoles. The unique choices in Assassin's Creed: Liberation also differentiate it from the rest of the series in a way that makes its upscaling relevant...
  • Pros: Superb environments overall, Engrossing experience throughout, Online mode is gone

Assassin's Creed: Liberation HD review (PS3)

HonestGamers
18 January 2014
  • Excerpt: Way back when the Vita was supposed to be a place to find console-quality games on a handheld device (before it turned into an indie machine), Assassin's Creed III: Liberation was Ubisoft's attempt to bring the Assassin's Creed series to the small screen. Unfortunately, it didn't work out too well.

GameSpot
18 December 2013
  • Summary: As the sea-faring partner in crime to Edward Kenway, Jackdaw quartermaster Adewale often projected a sense of self that made him a ripe candidate for the assassins. Adewale is now ready to forge own path, though Freedom Cry is just a small window into Adewale's solo exploits; we don't bear witness...
  • Pros: Adewale is a great character to know and to play, A good mix of required and optional missions
  • Cons: Constant spawning detracts from the main story, Poor execution of incentivizing the freeing of slaves

18 January 2013
  • Conclusion: Assassin’s Creed 3 is rated M for Mature with ESRB descriptors of Blood, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, and Strong Language. Because of all that, it’s definitely best for older gamers. But the game could also be considered educational, too.
