Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Strategy Informer
2 December 2011
  • Conclusion: We really have been spoilt this year. With the release of Revelations, Ubisoft have finally turned their initial concept into a truly unmissable game. Pulling the narrative together alongside some vital gameplay additions, this is the best, most complete Assassin's Creed title to date. In the space of four years, the series has turned it's infantile expectation into a showing of maturity and extreme class.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

GameTrailers
14 November 2011
  • Excerpt: The Assassin’s Creed franchise is one of the darlings of this console generation. As one of the most successful new IPs, it built a huge fan base out of the gate, but yearly updates have diluted its cachet. The IV drip of updates from one year to the next hasn’t helped, either, but there is hope that the final chapter of the current story arc will return it to prominence. Does Assassin’s Creed: Revelations deliver on its name?

Assassin's Creed Revelations Review

TheSixthAxis
5 December 2011
  • Excerpt: Assassin’s Creed Revelations is a tale of three men – three Assassins – and their intertwined story that spans centuries; close to a millennium. It’s a tale that began in the first game with Desmond Miles, in 2012, reliving the memories of his ancestor – the 12th Century, Syrian Assassin Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad.
  • Pros: It’s simply better than any Assassin’s Creed game has ever been before, The story is focused and pans out well, Scripted set-pieces and events are sublime, Desmond’s story sections are incredible, strange and unique, It tries a lot of new things, refines old features and always manages to come out on top
  • Cons: Istanbul’s crowded city doesn’t compare to the beauty of Italy, Despite the new features, the core game and multiplayer is very similar to Brotherhood, Framerate and visual glitches carry over from the previous game

Assassins Creed Revelations Review (PS3)

Yet Another Review Site
26 November 2011
  • Excerpt: Another sequel in a hectic period of sequels, Revelations is more of the same, but honed to perfection. I am susceptible to raving fanboyisms from time to time – for example, I have a Jedi logo tattooed on my right shoulder, and also fall foul of vociferously defending the Splinter Cell series as if my life depended on it (Conviction was immense, people!).
  • Pros: Ends the brilliant Ezio storyline with a bang, cameos of Altair finally add some depth to the character, and play well, Desmond sections manage to be interesting and fun, outstanding AC gameplay really hits its peak here, the new Hookblade is totally kickass, multiplayer now has a decent interwoven storyline and better game modes, graphics are the best yet, and really shine, voicework never gets dull, and manages to add life to the characters, definitely the Empire St...
  • Cons: .and non-fans will find it drags and doesn’t make much sense, controls have been reworked, but are still less intuitive than they should be, don’t even think you’ll understand the game unless you have at least played AC2 and Brotherhood all the way through, Desmond sections feel weird and unfinished, even if they are fun, actual main character design looks different to what we have been used to, lacking the innovation of previous titles

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Gamereactor
14 November 2011
  • Conclusion: Yet those tales didn't really match the rather dull achievements we pulled off in the first game. As the title implies we're due some answers and that's what we're getting in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, even as new questions also arise. Ezio finds himself in Constantinople, where he's looking for keys to unlock the secrets of Altaïr's library in Masyaf, and much like in previous games you will run across people straight out of the history books.
  • Pros: Brilliant voice acting, engaging, believable conversations, nice music.
  • Cons: Lacks a proper villain, difficult to stay anonymous.

Review: Assassin’s Creed Revelations

psx-sense.nl

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations

Spieletester.com
26 September 2013
