Summary: Controls are completely different from previous games. I loved every single game that this series has put out except this one. Armored Core 4 series had some slight changes in controls but were easy to learn and master. This game seems to be solely designed to be played in multiplayer on campaigns. Great cutscenes though...
Summary: I've been a fan of Armored Core since the game first came out on Playstation 1. With every iteration the game, I felt got better and better. With that said Armored Core V to me, was a big step backwards. What went wrong is the game went over a huge overhaul. The Mechs are smaller, they User Interface (UI) is significantly different and the way the story plays out or just figuring out how to go through the story is just a horrible user experience.
Summary: Graphics quality of a ps1 game. coupled with an un-intuitive user interface. I bought this game hoping to do some split screen fun like the original armored core games, There is no split screen multiplayer.
Summary: The previous A.C. games in the series are much better. But this time around in 4 they made it suck. Controls are way different (why!?), sighting and firing system doesn't do the job right, it just sucks. Nine Breaker and Last Raven are the best in the A.C. series.
Summary: I've been a big fan of AC games since AC Another Age in ps2. My favorite part has always been flying over enemies and raining down on them and fast movement. Well, developers clipped my wings and slowed me down in AC V. It's very frustrating getting around quick. Might as well have taken any kind of boos and out those silly mechs to walk. Also, no more shoulder powerful weapons to blast away heavy enemies.
Summary: The game would be awesome except I cannot get it to work in online mode. I've tried all the suggestions I could online to update the game. I play plenty of games on the PSN. So I know it's not my PS3 or my internet connection. I found many people complaining of the same issue on support forums and many people have never been able to get it to work. So since half of the game doesn't work, I suggest you do NOT purchase this.
Summary: Terrible, when ever I start up the game sends me to the PS store for an update, when I get to the store there is nothing there so I have to go though the clunky menus to play some lame single player missions. Don't even bother renting.
Summary: This game really sucks, I was disappointed big time, not as user friendly as last game. It takes to many steps just to play a game by yourself. I'm a BIG Armored Core Fan, this one is not worth paying full price, buy a used verison or ask a friend for his. Not worth buying at all, not a good game. Should of just continued from 4 Answerer version.
Summary: If you have never before played an Armored Core game then you might not hate this game. However If you are a fan of the series you will be sorely disappointed and probably return this game the next day. I've enjoyed the AC series since the PS1 "Master of Arena" game. While I haven't played every AC game, I have played several on each generation of the PlayStation console.
Summary: This is not Armored Core, much like the new Ace Combat is not Ace Combat. Namco/Bandai seems to think that all gamers are now too stupid to learn a detailed control set that actually makes a Mech or an aircraft feel realistic (and FUN). Gone are the days of free flying around the map, tracking targets in all three dimensions, and switching weapons while using boosters to flit around in the air and on the ground.
