Summary: From Software has a long history of games with an intense learning curve (dark souls and DS2 are the most recent examples of this) and once you get comfortable with the controls in AC3 and 4, the games open up to you like a perfect rose of rewarding, deep, and complex gameplay. ACV is nothing like this. The learning curve is still there, but it's not the controls. Before, with good play, you could make even the heaviest AC's dance and the lightest ones nearly unhittable.
Summary: I have been following the Armored Core series since the first game came out on the Playstation. I through at least a hundred or so hours into the game and enjoyed it. After the first installment, only Nexus and Armored Core 3 were playable to me, until 5 came out. I felt the controls, parts and play style of this game are beautifully executed. It was challenging, but not too challenging and the mercenary system is interesting.
Summary: Well if you take a close look at the picture there it says "Rated T for Teen". American as apple pie that is. I open up my copy when it came int the mail and it says "Pegi 12". They must of have confused when they looked at my address and figured my state was a colony of the old red coats. They must have figured, "Hey that guy likes tea and crumpets when he plays his games on the ol' telly. It must nearly be 11 bong over there.
A short perspective from someone who loves the previous games.

Summary: I want to start this review by saying that, I generally do not feel compelled to write reviews. Like...ever. However, after playing this game for a good couple of months, I felt the need to express my thoughts as Armored Core is my favorite game franchise ever. I have been playing AC since Armored Core 2 was released, and have all of the Armored Core games with the exception of Project Phantasma, Formula Front, and the mobile games.
Summary: I've been a fan of Armored Core since the game first came out on Playstation 1. With every iteration the game, I felt got better and better. With that said Armored Core V to me, was a big step backwards. What went wrong is the game went over a huge overhaul. The Mechs are smaller, they User Interface (UI) is significantly different and the way the story plays out or just figuring out how to go through the story is just a horrible user experience.
Summary: Graphics quality of a ps1 game. coupled with an un-intuitive user interface. I bought this game hoping to do some split screen fun like the original armored core games, There is no split screen multiplayer.
Summary: The previous A.C. games in the series are much better. But this time around in 4 they made it suck. Controls are way different (why!?), sighting and firing system doesn't do the job right, it just sucks. Nine Breaker and Last Raven are the best in the A.C. series.
Summary: Now please be aware this Armored Core is not the same as the old ones. I am a seasoned AC Vet from Playstation One's Armored Core all the way to Silent Line. I did play a little of AC4 but need to pick up a copy when I get a chance. Armored Core 5 even being very different from its predecessors did impress me in the online multiplayer end and in the overall look and feel of the game.
