Summary: The graphics were a huge let down. Sure it's an older game but it seems like the programers put most of the emphasis on the sim aspect of the game. If you're into moding your vehicle to the T this is the game for you. There are SO many different options to change your gear it's like a hobby all in it's own. The game play is ok lots of shoot em up stuff with Atari style graphics, very angular and blocky.
Summary: The only other Armored Core game I've ever played was the original and I really enjoyed it. However, things have dramatically changed since then. It's a bit overwhelming at first to try and find the right equipment for your mech and you'll tend to spend more time in the shop optimizing your mech than actually playing. You can however build pre-designed mechs once you defeat them in combat in missions or in the arena.
Should be avoided by everyone but the hardcore mech addicts.

Excerpt: "The armored core series has a substantial fan base and having played some of the earlier ps2 offerings i expected much from the 3rd generation graphics on the ps3, i was sorely disappointed. The series in the past has been a solid mech battle system, a rarity in games released in the EU and US and the past installments have been exciting and challenging with good graphics for their consoles and a great system for building and upgrading your mech to ...
Pros: Massively customisable mechs, great variety in upgrades and mech creation .
Cons: Poor gameplay, bad plot, horrible missions .
