Excerpt: From Software has been known for creating one of the most legendary Mech-combat franchises known. Their reputation was never doubted until the release of their first HD Mech-combat game, Armored Core 4. How did these developers fall as hard as they did though? Simple, they created a game that failed to deliver the level of quality and enjoyment of their previous games.
Excerpt: Armored Core is back, with Armored Core: For Answer , and is just as beautiful as ever. Actually, the environments seem to be making better use of the PS3's power in For Answer , better utilizing the space and detail that the system can allow. The buildings have been destructible in previous games, for example, but they look better now, both before being destroyed and while they are crumbling to the ground.
Conclusion: For newcomers to the series, the flight controls have also been slightly streamlined - making a fairly easy game even easier to get into. Whether or not you decide to pick it up or not is a different matter, but in the fairly niche world of westernised mech games, it isn't as if competition is rife. For Answer isn't the best game in the world, but nevertheless it offers up a solid experience that can be enjoyed by casual players and hardcore builders alike.
Excerpt: Massive development and aerial pollution have been harming the planet. People recognize how little time is left until the end of the world. Thanks to their massive amount of military strength, The League corporations are in control of the planet's infrastructure and their people are living in the air to avoid the contamination. The ORCA, forced to live on the surface of the polluted planet, organized the resistance and have amassed a formidable arsenal.
Conclusion: Armored Core for Answer is another meaty entry for a niche franchise with a loyal group of followers. There's a lot to bite down on here, but if you're looking for some innovation you're going to be left wanting. The gameplay and overall experience is relatively static, though the additions included with this title are definitely appreciated from the standpoint of someone who has played other entries in the series.
Conclusion: On top of missions, you can work your way through a series of bots in the arena, though it would have been nice to have more maps to choose from. You can also take the fight online, and while there are more maps to play on in a multiplayer environment, there are very few people to compete with.

Cons: It's functionally the same as previous games in the series, Environments are bland and unappealing, Practically no one plays online., It's functionally the same as previous games in the series, Environments are bland and unappealing, Practically no one plays online.
Excerpt: After our disappointing time with Armored Core 4 , we didn't have high hopes for From Software's latest, Armored Core for Answer . Even in the hands of a new publisher – Ubisoft – we just couldn't conceive of any scenario in which the game's obscenely complex customization mechanic and similarly troublesome controls could be made palatable to the average non-fan. We were wrong. Oh what a difference an Armored Fort makes.
