Ape Escape

  • Excerpt: Ape Escape was one of the first dual stick games way back in the days of the PSOne and its simplistic and addictive gameplay has been a welcome addition to console gaming ever since. After Sony decided not to release the last PS2 title Million Monkeys over here it seemed that the simian psycho’s had been retired to mini games on the PSP; but all is not lost and SONY JAPAN have set those pesky primates loose on the PS3.

  • Excerpt: PlayStation Move Ape Escape is a particular love-it-or-hate-it game based on the series alone. If you’re a longtime Ape Escape fan, a fan of arcade-style games where improving your own score is the name of the game, or just looking a new take on rail shooters, it may be worth a shot.
  • Pros: Party fun, vibrant Ape Escape setting
  • Cons: Doesn’t quite get the controls right

Ape Escape PS3 Review

Console Obsession
6 July 2011
  • Excerpt: The original Ape Escape was the first PlayStation 1 game to be specifically created with the DualShock in mind, and it really displayed the advantage that dual analogue sticks had over a simple D-pad. After a long hiatus the series is back and this time around supports Move, so from a control standpoint, it’s easy to expect something special, given the history of the series.

Ape Escape PS3

  • Excerpt: The PlayStation Move is an interesting control system, however just like the Nintendo Wii, there are far too many older titles that are being updated with this new control system. Although some of these games work, they don't offer the world of games anything new and from a gaming viewpoint, developers should be trying something different as opposed to porting older games to the PlayStation Move system and then tweaking the gameplay.

  • Excerpt: The Ape Escape franchise has been somewhat absent of late. Like Sony's other successful platformers of yesteryear, it has been demoted to spinoffs and remakes on the PSP for the past half decade. However the advent of the Playstation Move has provided the perfect output for family-friendly games like this: the first instalment in the Ape Escape franchise on a home console for over six years.

Ape Escape

gamesector.dk
17 August 2011
  • Pros: Gode minispil
  • Cons: Alt for ensformigt, Sløvt gameplay, En spildt chance

Ape Escape
