Summary: Game could have been a winner. It froze up a few times, along with a few glitchy spots. Camera angles are terrible. Gameplay is terrible. If you have abundant patience you might get by, but you still won't have much fun with this. 1/10 is my rating.
I truly feel sorry for the people who tested this game...

Summary: This game is a blight on the entire survival horror genre and I'll tell you why in one sentence: it suffers from being far too ambitious and all of the developers' ideas were horribly executed. - Immediately in the opening scene you'll notice it has awful voice acting and will be unable to take the game's story seriously at all. The main character in particular has some of the worst line delivery I have ever heard (it's beyond B-movie bad.).
Summary: Fans of the original Alone in the Dark will not like this game...no one else will either. Everything about this game is bad...bad controls, bad gameplay, terrible story, bad graphics, just a bad game all around. This game was so terrible that I opened a gamefly account to avoid buying such a game ever again.
Excerpt: Ok well first off this game is as I feel excellent if you give it time to get use to the kind of awkward controls at the beginning but you will actually get the hang of them as I did (its not like a game you pick up and know every button, you do need to get used to them as there is much things you can do in this game when you get into it).
Alone in the Dark (PS3) should be Alone on the shelf....

Excerpt: Well here's how the developers would like to promote the game, "Bursting with innovative technology, including unprecedented environmental interaction, revolutionary physics, advanced artificial intelligence, stunning visuals, and uniquely immersive user interface, Alone in the Dark breaks gaming clichés to fulfil the next-gen promise and deliver a new kind of entertainment experience.". How they can honestly expect to get away with these claims is beyond me?
Pros: Interesting good versus evil storyline .
Cons: Graphic issues, repetitive tasks, camera angles, fuzzy controls .
Excerpt: From the hype this game was getting before release it was one of the games I was most looking forward to getting my hands on. However after shelling out the money for it and playing it I now wish I had of just ignored the hype. The camera angles are really bad and can be very frustrating at times especially in some of the fast paced scenes. They did add a nice touch however that lets you switch between person and third person. The load times aren't long at all.
