All Zombies Must Die!

Destructoid
2 September 2013
  • Summary: As 2011 closed out it only seemed fitting that the gaming community was, once again, presented with the chance to take a shotgun to the head of its most overused mascot, the zombie. I mean, it was only last week when the last zombie themed video game, let alone a zombie themed twin-stick shooter came out, right?

All Zombies Must Die!

Game Over Online
1 September 2012
  • Excerpt: I fancy myself a zombie connoisseur, of sorts, and judging from the extreme popularity of the genre these days, I’m assuming many of you are as well. Unfortunately, like with all subgenres, popular or otherwise, the undead have had a few games that were dead on arrival (I’m looking at you, Zombie Apocalypse), as well as some pretty great entries, like Dead Nation and Burn Zombie Burn!. Where does All Zombies Must Die! place on the list? Let’s find out.

All Zombies Must Die! PC review

GameZone
29 March 2012
  • Excerpt: The zombie tale has ranged over the years from stylishly grizzly to truly horrific, from intensely thought-provoking to blatantly crass. We've also gotten a few lighthearted takes on the lore of the undead. All Zombies Must Die! is more of the latter, focusing on witty character interactions and cheery visuals to push its premise forward.

All Zombies Must Die!

Strategy Informer

  • Conclusion: But what is unforgivable is that All Zombies Must Die! commits the ultimate video game sin by becoming boring. Much like the classic example of Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest , (that’s right, I went there) quantity must not come at the expense of quality or even a basic level of enjoyment. It’s a real shame because with more variety and less padding AZMD could’ve been so much more.

All Zombies Must Die

  • Conclusion: Despite some good stabs at satire and humor, the overall experience of All Zombies Must Die! is uninspiring. A light crafting system adds a bit of variety, but we've all killed an awful lot of zombies by now.

Expert Review

Game Over Online
16 January 2012
  • Excerpt: For starters, despite having followed the 'top-down cooperative zombie shooter with Geometry Wars' controls' approach, All Zombies Must Die! also brings with it some light RPG elements, in the form of quests, loot, and weapon crafting. On top of this is the expected cooperative side, which lets you and up to three friends mow down hordes of the undead.

All Zombies Must Die!

Playstation Illustrated
7 January 2012
  • Excerpt: When I first picked up All Zombies Must Die! , I had the distinct feeling that I had already played and reviewed this game. After a few gameplay sessions, it hit me, the similarities between All Zombies Must Die! and another PSN title, Burn Zombie Burn! were too many to be ignored. Well, the reason for that is simple, DoubleSix Games developed both titles, and while All Zombies Must Die!

All Zombies Must Die! Review

GameZone
7 January 2012
  • Excerpt: Another year, another game that gives you the opportunity to kill the undead.  Many publishers have tried their hand at a twin stick shooter that lets you take on zombie hordes, including Sony ( Dead Nation ), Konami ( Zombie Apocalypse ) and, of course, Valve ( Left 4 Dead ).  Now entering the fray is Square Enix, whose All Zombies Must Die! , developed by Doublesix, takes a more comical approach.
