Summary: Aliens: Colonial Marines has been one of my most anticipated games every year for over half a decade. My love of anything distinctly related to Xenomorphs, as well as my general high regard for the majority of Aliens games released over the years, made it a sure winner in my book.
Conclusion: Aliens has rarely had much luck with its video game spin-offs, but I was still hopeful that Colonial Marines could deliver an at least solid experience. How wrong I was. This game fails to uphold any sort of quality experience in every way.

Summary: The whole idea was probably doomed from the start but this is a disappointingly slipshod effort, with a story campaign that somehow feels more old-fashioned than the decades-old movie it’s based on.
Pros: Great attention to detail by a team that clearly loves the original movie. Some effective scares and a welcome range of co-op and competitive multiplayer options.
Cons: The gunplay is mediocre, the artificial intelligence weak, and the design linear and repetitive. Few gameplay innovations and underneath the atmospheric lighting the graphics aren’t very good.
Conclusion: Personligen är det konstigt att jag sitter här och klagar på Colonial Marines, ett spel som jag sett fram emot så länge. Det finns inget, INGET Gearbox kan göra för att ursäkta det här totala nederlaget.
