Summary: This was kinda dull and not very fun at all, the gameplay is not good and is one of those games where the controls are poor so that you just fail a simple jump - which gets really annoying. Lent it to my friend and although he completed it, it was not really enjoyed.
A crazy juxtaposition - Alice: Madness returns (PS3)

Excerpt: Any game trying to enter the crowded first or third person shooter market needs to innovate to stand out from the crowd. Doing what the others do in a decent way is rarely good enough to bring in the reviews that drive sales. Just to clarify, first person shooters give you the perspective of looking at the game through the eyes of the protagonist. (Call of duty is perhaps the best known example of this genre.
Pros: Interesting world to explore, great graphics on the whole
Cons: Third person action meets platformer just doesn't work
Summary: Alice: Madness Returns seems to be lacking something. It had great graphics and from looking @ the cover & reading the review I could hardly contain myself with the excitement. I have never been so dissapointed in a game in all my years of game playing. It lacks depth it. by looking at the cover u may expect something in the line of Bioshock or a a game similar but this is nowhere near all u do is run around with a pepper grinder shooting pig snouts.
Summary: I love platformer games and bought this game hoping it will be a good one,I was wrong first level is ok,but game soon gets boring and repetitive. graphics are nothing to get excited about, and there are too many flaws, the game lacks polish and detail.and camera angle is bad.voice acting is poor, story is a mess and makes no sense.I bought this game on sale for £10 but was not worth even £10. I gave up playing after a few levels.
Looks good releaed 4 months too early without picking up on flaws.

Excerpt: I rented this game for this review, and expected huge things. I first heard about this game at the 2011 E3 Expo. From what I saw, I was expecting a brilliant and well crafted game, with beautiful artwork and that hint of Tim Burtonesque design. I was wrong. When Alice: Madness Returns arrived, I was excited and put the game straight into my console. After avdubious loading time, i began the game.
Summary: I so, so wanted to like this game. To be fair, at times I did, but those flashes of enjoyment were few and far between. Before getting into the pros/cons of this game, let me talk about the game itself. 'Alice' has six long levels for you to peruse, as well as many collectibles to find along the way. The time spent on this game depends on whether you're looking just to beat it or complete it -- completion will likely keep you busy for a reasonable amount of time.
Summary: I can honestly say I'm astounded by all the positive reviews on here. From what I have seen, this is a glitchy, poorly rendered, badly animated mess. I love the idea of it all, as well as the quirky art style, which is why I purchased on release date, but it definitely could have done with a few months more in testing.
